RCHC STAFF PLEDGES LOVE AND

DOLLARS TO THE RAWLINS

COUNTY HOSPITAL FOUNDATION

Valentine’s Day is synonymous with the Heart. Of

course, spiritual heart and physical heart are quite

different. However, they are mysteriously connected.

Physical heart is approximately the size of your fist and

is located slightly to the left of the center of your chest.

This system made up of a muscle and vessels works

really hard for a long period of time and without

stopping. Your heart beats approximately 75 times a

minute, 4,500 beats an hour, 108,000 beats a day,

39,420,000 beats a year times your age and – well that’s

a lot!

We need to care for the heart to keep it working for as

long as we can. Eat right, exercise, and stop smoking.

Did you know stress can have massive implications on

the heart? Mental stress increases the blood pressure

causing the heart to work harder and causes a

temporary disruption of the cardiac pumping action.

Take care of your heart by keeping your mind and

body healthy. Calm the anger, put a big smile on

your face and don’t stress the small stuff.
