The last few months has seen the size of LMT Head Office double, with the purchase of the building next door to where we were, as well as completing our full renovations. With over 40 in Head Office, we are now much more settled in our new, larger premises. The annual significant marketing event for LMT this year was the 7th Upper Limb Scientific Meeting held in July. We had another fantastic international and domestic faculty, with a very interactive group of delegates. We have also attended several international meetings, IFSSH, ASSH, AOFAS and Eurospine, as well as on the home front supported many of the Australian and NZ meetings, AOA, NZSES, Combined AUS & NZ Foot & Ankle meeting, NSA, ORL and Sports Med AUS meeting. As most of you are aware, LMT is known for continually seeking innovative technology, and Jon and I have travelled to Korea, USA and Finland, looking at some very exciting new products. SUPPLIER NEWSIN2BONES SKILLS LAB: ROTTERDAMHolding their second ever Skills Lab, In2Bones hosted an international group at the Erasmus MC University Hopsital. Two of our team and a few of our Australian surgeons attended the 2 day course which consisted of didactic and cadaveric sessions on foot surgery. The European faculty touched on new surgical approaches - both open and MIS. The event was a highly valuable upskilling course for surgeons, and we were lucky enouh to have a few LMT team members in attendance as well. In2bones also received great reviews from all other 35 attendees - this is something they will continue rolling out each year to further educate surgeons around the world wanting to specialise in Foot & Ankle reconstruction.NEW PARTNERSHIP & PRODUCT LAUNCH: BIOVERIn late September we announced our partnership with Biover and are now distributing their selection of single-use Microvascular Clamps. The single-use clamps allow for correct pressure every time with atraumatic “hilly” design, with both arterial and venous options.

DR ANDREW HARRISON VISITSIn October our Sports Medicine division was pleased to welcome Bioventus’ lead scientist Andy Harrison back to Australia. This was an excellent opportunity for the division to be provided with continuing, hands-on interactive product training and the ability to ask any questions on both Durolane & Exogen products. LMT also hosted two educational, and delicious dinners in Brisbane and Sydney. The visit coincided perfectly with the recent expansion & launch of the Durolane All Joints indication. With the single injection Hyaluronic Acid for osteoarthritis now indicated

SPORTS MEDICINEAs our newest addition to the LMT product portfolios, our Sports Medicine range has already proven to be a fantastic branch from our strong orthopaedic, spine, neuro, ENT and plastics offerings. This month, we’re featuring Geko from First Kind Medical. Geko is an easy to use, single use device that uses OnPulse technology to deliver one electric pulse per second to the peroneal nerve, stimulating the deep veins of the leg and contracting the muscles to help reduce

oedema.

RESTAURANT REVIEW:PAULY SAAL, BERLIN

Nestled within the gymnasium of a former Jewish Girls’ School in Old East Berlin is Pauly Saal restaurant, bar and garden. The Michelin Starred restaurant serves up contemporary German cuisine underneath the strikingly ominous military decor. The setting and food made for a truly original dining experience that has never been experienced anywhere else.We were very pleased to host a dinner for 38 in this impressive restaurant during IFSSH. The talking points from the meeting and the restaurant itself made for an

incredible evening of intricate dishes and great wine.

2019 FUNDRAISING EFFORTSThis year LMT Surgical has ramped up its fundraising initiatives, and plan to continue to do so leading into the end of 2019! There is nothing more an LMT employee loves than a good old fashioned fundraising morning tea, this normally means more food than our bellies can handle, and certainly an overload of sugar. So far, we’ve munched on a selection of mini sausage rolls and scrumptious gourmet muffins to support the following causes: Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea – Support of Cancer Council Easter Morning tea & Raffle with all proceeds going to Beyond Blue Supporting the cause Morning Tea for the Peter Mac Foundation Needless to say, our fundraising efforts do include more than food! We’ve built our muscles and tested our endurance at Tough Mudder, for the second year in a row, with all ticket sales going towards Beyond Blue. We rallied together to support and encourage donation initiatives for the victims of the Christchurch shooting, and on October 27th, we completed the 5k Walk for Brain Cancer. You can keep track and support our fundraising efforts on the LMT Surgical & National Surgical Facebook pages!
