A leading team of experts under the leadership of

NASSCOM Vice President Dr.Sandhya Chintala visited

RIET on June 2, 2016. Based on discussion with the

college authorities it has been mutually agreed to

develop RIET as a nodal training centre helping students

to become entrepreneurs and on subject matter experts.

It has also been decided upon for making RIET as a

nodal agency committed to provide training by bringing

into its fold neighbouring higher educational technical

institutes. An Information Technology and Research

Development Centre at RIET was also inaugurated as

part of the programme.ITRDC inauguration at RIET by Dr. R Sathikumar, Principal, RIET, Miss Reshma Ramesh,

Director RIET, and Dr.Sandhya Chintala, Vice President, NASSCOM.

EXUBERANCE!! ONAM 2K16

Onam 2k16 was celebrated in the college campus on

9th September 2016. The function was inaugurated by

Dr. R Sathikumar, Principal RIET. The students performed

gracefully to the tune of music. The Onam songs, Thiruvathira

and a theme base dance performed by our students were

entertaining and perfectly crafted. The lobby was beautifully

decorated by the floral carpet .There were several games for both

students and staff members in which all participated with great

enthusiasm. The Onam Sadya was the most delicious treat for the

day. The spirit and message of Onam was conveyed to all in its

fullest. Major events of attraction were the competitions on

Pookalam, Uriyadi and Tug of war by all the Departments. CSE, ECE

and EEE departments bagged the first, second and third positions

for Pookalam competition and CE department bagged the

prizes for both Uriyadi and Tug of War.

As a part of the Vigilance Awareness Week from October 26 to 31,

2015, a talk on “Preventive Vigilance as a Tool for Good Governance”

was organized at Rajadhani Institute of Engineering and Technology. Er.

Karappankutty K K, Former Member, KSEB and Former Member, Kerala

Dam Safety Authority was the resource person for the talk on 29th

October, 2015 for the B.Tech students of Civil and Aeronautical

branches. The talk was meant to educate the audience about the

various dimensions of corruption, its legal provisions and the efforts

being taken by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti Corruption to tackle

corruption. Heads of various departments and faculty members of the

college attended the programme.

VIGILANCE AWARENESS WEEK OBSERVANCE

In commemoration of Dr. B R Ambedkar Birth Centenary Celebration,

Constitution Day was celebrated on 26th Nov 2015 with the support of

National Service Scheme Unit. Dr. R Sathikumar, Principal RIET greeted

the resource person and welcomed the gathering. The resource person,

Adv. K K Vijayan, a leading advocate and practicing lawyer at the High

Court addressed the audience and deliberated the features and values

of the Indian constitution. He also shared the importance of observing

such days to sustain the spirit of national integration.

CONSTITUTION DAY

RIET is pleased to herald the launch of the

Youth Red Cross Unit. The inauguration

function was organized on 6th January 2016.

Speaking about the humanitarian values that

should be inculcated in the youth, Sri Rajith

Rajendran, Vice Chairman, Indian Red Cross

Society (IRCS) inaugurated the activities of the

unit. The activities of the unit started with a

blood donation camp volunteered by the staff

and students of RIET.

The Annual sports meet of RIET 2016 was held at

University Stadium, Trivandrum on 1st October 2016.
