Week 6 Term 4 Date: Tuesday, 14 November 2017

Library News Borrowing is now closed Sadly, borrowing for the year has now finished and all books are now due to be returned. This is to enable the library to run the annual stocktake. The good news is that the first class to return all student loans will receive a prize. This is always a very keenly contested competition! If your child has overdue loans, notices will be issued this week. Please assist your child to locate the books and ensure that they are returned to the library promptly. Happy reading Mrs Troup

Year 6 Farewell Meeting The next Year 6 Farewell meeting will be held on Wednesday 22nd November at 3.15 pm, in the school library. A note with final details will be going home shortly. Book Club Issue 8 of Book Club went home last week. This is the last order for the year. Please make your online order before 29th November 2017. P & C News Annual General Meeting Our AGM will be held tomorrow night, 15th November at 7pm in the staffroom. Please join us as we elect a new committee for 2018. The AGM is followed by a General Meeting. The P&C encourages your involvement and participation in our school. The P&C plays a role in representing parent voice on a range of school related topics as well as providing a significant source of fundraising / financial assistance to the school. The involvement of parents and carers helps to create a dynamic community at MWDS, with enormous benefit for all our children. Helping out is a great way to be involved in your child’s school life, support the teaching staff, get to know students, other families and contribute to your community. We are all busy with family and work commitments and it is not always possible to help every time a request is made. However, there are many different ways to support the school and we urge you to do what you can, when you can. There are many positions available to parents wishing to have a more involved role in the school. You can be part of the Executive, take on the role of Secretary or President or simply join the committee and be part of the planning process. Below are the positions to be elected at the AGM: President Vice President Treasurer Assistant Treasurer Secretary Assistant Secretary Canteen Liaison Fundraising Coordinator Uniform Shop Coordinator We encourage all families to get involved. We hope to see you there! Christmas Disco On 7th December we will be holding our Christmas disco. This event is shaping up to be a great night for all of our students. Entry is only $5 per student or $10 including a meal deal. See the flyer attached for further information. We are asking for volunteers for this event for either the Preschool-Year 2 disco from 5.30pm to 6.45pm and/or the Year 3-Year 6 disco from 7pm to 8.30pm. If you are available to volunteer on the night, please contact Deb Malcolm on 0412 421 231.
