I look forward to working with the students and the community. I thank all the families that have welcomed me and look forward to meeting others in the near future - perhaps at our upcoming Education Week and Book Week in week 5, Wednesday 15th August. Thank you. TREE DAY I have spoken to Trenton at Lismore Toyota and we are all set to go ahead with our school tree day on Friday 24th August. Also, please come via the school office if students are arriving late to school or being picked up early. LIBRARY NEWSA range of new books were put into our library this week to the delight of many who borrowed them. Our students have continued to enjoy reading the ongoing series of books such as “Weirdo” series by Anh Do, “The Bad Guys” by Arron Blabey, “The Storey Treehouse” by Andy Griffith, “Diary of a Minecraft Zombie” by Zac Zombie, “The Naughtiest Girl” by Enid Blyton, “The Goosebumps” by R.L. Stine, “Captain Underpants” by Dav Pilkey and “The Tomorrow Series” by John Marsden. Congratulations to the borrowers who received their borrowing award or have chosen a reward from my goodies box for Term 2 and keep up the super reading! Ms Moy

Book Club Issue 5 has been handed out and orders are due back on Tuesday 14 August 2018. Don’t forget you can place orders and make a payment online via Scholastic’s Book Club LOOP. All you need to do is register yourself with Larnook Public School, choose your items from Issue 5, submit and pay for your order using a credit card.Once the LOOP order is processed, we receive delivery or your order at school and send the books home with your child. To register and place a LOOP order go to:https://mybookclubs.scholastic.com.au/Parent/Register.aspx

Book Week In about 2 WEEKS on Tuesday 21 August, we will be celebrating Book Week and if parents, carers or other family would like to come along, you are most welcome. This year’s theme is “Find Your Treasure” because as Walt Disney once said … “There is more treasure in books than in all the Pirates’ loot on Treasure Island”. For some fun, I’ve told students they can dress up as a Pirate or their favourite character from a book.

Book Fair As well as celebrating Book Week 2018 on Tuesday 21 August, we will also have our annual Scholastic Book Fair in the Library. Everyone is welcome to come along, look and purchase from the Book Fair. All purchases from the Book Fair go towards rewards dollars for Larnook Public School to spend on books and resources. We look forward to seeing you!
