A ReflectionA ReflectionA ReflectionA Reflection Looking back over 2013 there been have many aspects of the school year that have made this a very memorable and satisfying experience.

It has been a wonderful and fulfilling time working with our delightful group of students, whether it has been directly in the classrooms or around the school. I have also had the privilege of accompanying them to excursions, carnivals of all sorts and a variety of representative events where their conduct and manner has made me proud to be part of the Bayswater School community.

For those families and students that are moving from our school I would like to wish them all the best in their upcoming adventures. This especially pertains to our Graduating Year Sevens as they enter a new phase of their learning.

The staff must be thanked for their dedication and commitment as well as their quality work to provide a positive learning environment for our students. A special thanks to our Non-teaching staff who have worked tirelessly to provide support to the students and teachers at our school.

The support, the staff and students, have received from our P and C this year has been fantastic. While this support is outstanding every year, 2013 has been something special. The funds provided for the purchase of i-Pads, laptops, shade structures and classroom based resources was very well appreciated. The high quality service from our well run canteen has been a feature. I would like to thank the large number of community volunteers who have made all this happen.

I would like to thank everyone who has made a contribution to the welfare of our school over this year. Without, your often unconditional support our school would not be the great place it is.

On behalf of the staff I would like to wish everyone a fantastic holiday break with your family and extend hope that what ever your journey, it strengthens your bond and faith. Keep safe and I look forward to working with you in 2013.

Jo, canteen manager, would like to thank all the parents who have helped out in the canteen this year and those who have helped at various events throughout the year. News From the LibraryNews From the LibraryNews From the LibraryNews From the Library

On behalf of the students I would like to sincerely thank the P&C for their support over the past year and the generous contribution towards new reading books, games and coloured pencils for our Lunchtime Art Club. Lunch times are very often a hive of activity as the children seek shelter from stormy weather or heat. It is delightful to see students from across the whole school laughing and sharing.

For the past two years I have been ‘weeding’ the library collection. Bayswater Primary School is very privileged to have been part of a number of Western Australian schools who have donated discarded books to a number of schools in Vanuatu. The school has received many letters of thanks, some written by individual students, one of them was from a little girl called Sera. It made my heart sing to read this and know how much these books are appreciated by the children and the villagers. I would like to thank my friend Mrs Lesley White who spent two days with me during the July school holidays packing and transporting the many boxes of books to the storage depot. Thanks must also go to the chain of volunteers from Perth to Brisbane for making this possible.

Best wishes to you all for a safe and happy break.
