The rock carvings in Tanum were declared a World Heritage in 1994. Today

the activities of the museum evolve dynamically. On September 17th, we

The seminar has invited scholars that are eager to contribute to anexploration and a discussion of the subject field: Heritage as common(s)

Common(s) as heritage, to put focus on sharing as space and place,as social imaginary, as practice and to explore its imperatives.Theformat scaffolds this aim: every seminar holds an external scholar of

our choosing, andthis scholar has picked yet another guest of her/hischoosing. Both scholars are invited to present a paper that concernsthe theme and to discuss each others papers.

Kulturarv och Hlsa/Heritage andHealth

Culture and health are central issues at present. The concept of

'culture' entails issues of identity and belonging and the concept of'health' relates to our whole life environment. Cultural heritage is keyto culture in general and to our self awareness - and thereby also to

our environment and health. How can we work practically aroundquestions of heritage and health? That is the question we raise on thisevening's seminar.

Globalizing Heritage cluster. Samulesson is currently working on theproject Zoo/mbies och Nature Morte: Kroppar i naturhistoriska museer1800-2007.

In the end ofOctober, we welcome bothJohn Carman, SeniorLecturer in Heritage Valuation at the University of Birmingham, andSharon MacDonald, Anniversary Professor of Cultural

Anthropology at the University of York.

In the beginning ofNovember, we are happy to welcomeValdimar Hafstein, long time associate to CHS, back toGothenburg.

Carman, MacDonald and Hafstein will all give public lecturesand information about these will soon be avaliable on ourwebsite.
