NEWSLETTER Chairman’s pen June 2017
Dear colleagues
The year has amazingly already progressed to June. In different parts of our coun-try we have floods and droughts, unusual cold and warm weather , empty and over-flowing dams. Strange times indeed.
Red Meat Abattoir Association
The RMAA, once again, held their annual conference and congress in the Western Cape. It took place from 17 to 19 May. IMQAS was one of the exhibitors. It is the only national event attended by abattoirs owners and managers as well as national and provincial veterinary public health officials. It is a great opportunity to meet with clients, to network with state officials and be brought up to date with the lat-est developments in the abattoir and meat industries.
The IMQAS stand with, from left to right: Leon Bothma, Gerrie Ober-holzer, Shaun Stoffberg and Johan Fourie.
Meat Inspection Scheme
We were informed that the minister approved the gazetting of the scheme for im-plementation during May. The expectation is that the scheme will be published shortly. We will keep you informed.
Best wishes for a Blessed month of June.
Gerrie Oberholzer
