The Fall Calabasas Recreation Brochure will be available on Monday, August 12th at the Calabasas Senior Center, Tennis & Swim Center, Juan Bautista De Anza Park, and mailed to Calabasas residents. Registration will take place in stages:

On Wednesday, August 14th at 9:00a.m., paid members of the Calabasas Senior Center

On Friday, August 16th at 9:00a.m., Calabasas residents who are not CSC members

On Monday, August 19th at 9:00a.m. , non-residents of Calabasas

Register online or at the front desk of the senior center.

Mah Jongg Tournament

A Big Success!

Congratulations to the winners of the Calabasas Senior Center’s first annual Mah Jongg Tournament. The first place winner, with 275 points was Libby Pevsnek. In second place with 260 points was Ginny Kurtzman and in third place with 250 points was Linda Weitzler.

Thanks to Charlotte Meyer, who conceived of the idea of a tournament, and oversaw all aspects of the event. Corner Bakery catered breakfast and lunch for the players, and bagels were provided by East Coast Bagels. Judi and Bill Nachenberg, Mah Jongg Fun L.A., ran the tournament.

Mah Jongg Update

Mah Jongg players needing a sub or to connect with other Mah Jongg games may

New Club: Chess

The Chess Club is looking for more members. This club is geared for beginners and those who want to learn the game. They met every Monday afternoon from 4:00-5:30pm at the CSC. For more information, contact Norman Ross at (818) 591-1938.

Possible New Club: Monopoly Deal

Most everyone knows how to play the board game Monopoly...the game that takes forever!

Monopoly Deal is a card game that takes only 15 minutes

to play and is easy to learn. Please email Alan Wills at: [email protected] for more information if you are interested
