It also means that PRC will take any other reasonable action that allows you to take part in and understand a program or activity, including making reasonable changes to an activity. If you believe that you will not be able to understand or take part in a program or activity because of your disability, please let us know of your disability needs in advance it at all possible. Please contact PRC at 602-253-6895.

Mother Earth Corner

What is

'pollution'? Pollution can be many different things, but

it basically means any nasty stuff that we

put in our oceans or air or ground. This

nasty stuff can be smoke in the air from

industrial plants (or even smoke from a

cigarette!), trash being thrown in the riv-

ers or oceans, or chemicals dumped in

landfills. What all these pollutants have in common

is that they hurt our earth. Our water is not as safe

to drink, smoke can make the air unsafe to

breathe, and landfills can affect the soil around

them so much that it’s impossible for healthy plants

and trees to grow. Can you think of any examples

of pollution near you?

the Grand Opening of

Family Clinic Clinic will integrate medical and

behavioral health care www.valledelsol.org

(602)258-6797

On September 14, 2012 Valle del Sol held a grand opening for their state-of-the-art primary care clinic located at 1209 South 1

st Avenue which will inte-

grate health care with behavioral health services. The inspiration for the Total Health program began when Valle del Sol staff discovered that their

behavioral health care patients were facing barriers to primary care due to transportation issues or a lack of physicians to meet their client’s primary health care needs. In addition, research shows that individ-uals with behavioral health issues often die younger due to untreated chronic medical illnesses such as diabetes, high cholesterol, or high blood pressure.

"We are championing this effort to maximize the level of care for our patients and to provide better

health outcomes in our communities” said Kurt

Dedication Event at

Cementerio Lindo

The Pioneers’ Cemetery Association has planned a dedication event on Thursday, Octo-ber 25

th at the Cementerio Lindo, beginning at

10 AM sharp. Partnering with the City of Phoe-nix, the Phoenix Revitalization Corporation and the American Legion Post 41, plans are set to dedicate a new memorial plaque at the entrance of this historic cemetery at 15

th Ave. and Duran-

go. Several members of these organizations will be on hand from 10:00AM to 2:00PM to provide in-formation to visitors and family members of those who are interred at this historic cemetery. Dignitaries, special invited guests, music and en-tertainment will be on hand in the morning with food and refreshments provided by the Phoenix Revitalization Corporation. The event will con-clude about 2:00p.m. The Cementerio Lindo cemetery was established in 1891 as the first Maricopa County Cemetery and was closed to new burials in 1952 The PCA has undertaken to reconstruct the list of persons buried in the old County Cemetery. While the total number of graves is unknown due to a fire in 1951 that burned most, if not all, of the County burial records, it is thought that there may have been over 7000 burials at this location. Although the original records have been lost, death certifi-cates for the vast majority of people interred here are available online. If you have any information about the cemetery or know the name of someone who was buried there, please download, fill out and return the Burial Contact Form as an email attachment to the PCA at [email protected]. You may also contact the PCA by phoning 602-534-1262 on Thursdays or by writing to the PCA at PO Box 63342, Phoenix, AZ 85082-3342.

Dedication Event at
