Thank you! Dear Messiah Family, Your reception for my retirement was wonderful. Thanks for all your beautiful cards, gifts, and well wishes. Your gift certificate from Ben Franklin will be put to good use. Special thanks to all of the 5:00 members who were a tremendous support. I have enjoyed the 7 year opportunity to serve you. With God’s help, I will now look ahead to new ventures. Thanks again, Marilyn Andersen

TV 6 Canathon Please consider supporting a UP wide collection of food to stock local food pantries. This will help the hungry in our area and the entire Upper Peninsula. We will collect non-perishables throughout the month of November. You can leave your canned/non-perishables in the grocery cart in the nar-thex. The children will bring them forward early in the worship service. Thank you, in advance, for your support!

Lutheran Campus Ministry Meals on Sunday For many years Messiah has provided home-cooked meals on Sunday evenings to Northern students at the Lutheran Campus Ministry house. Please consider being part of this ministry team. Cooks usually work in teams of two or three to include a main course, a side dish or salad and dessert. Contact Jan Julian at 346-6230 if you can help.

Always Being Made New Always Being Made New is a campaign of the ELCA to raise $198 million with which to help our church respond to needs in our community and in the world at large. For example, in 2015, the NGLS designated funds for improvements to Fortune Lake Lutheran Camp and handicap accessibil-ity needs of several of our member churches. In 2016, the synod assembly voted to use grants from the Always Being Made New fund to ad-dress hunger and poverty, both locally and worldwide. One-half of the grant money will be used to help congregations address hunger and poverty needs in their communities At Messiah, the weekend of Nov. 12-13 has been designated to collect contributions to Always Being Made New. By pooling our resources, congregations will be enabled to support efforts to help both our immediate neighbors and those around the world who are unable to provide for their basic needs. Envelopes are available for your contributions. God’s work…Our hands!

Thanksgiving “Sing praise to the Lord, all you faithful; give thanks in holy remembrance.” (Psalm 30:4) You, your family, your friends, and your neighbors are all invited to the annual Ecumenical Thanksgiving wor-ship service Monday, November 21 at 7 pm! It will be held at the Hope Connection Center (formerly Grace Methodist) located at 927 W. Fair Ave, Marquette. We’ll gather together as brothers and sisters from different faith traditions but united in the one body of Christ praising God and giving thanks. It’s a wonderful opportunity to build connections with others in the wider community, and of course to be fed by the Spirit. We hope you’ll carve out a small slot in your busy schedules to spend just a little bit of time with us and the Savior!

Inter-generational Fun All youth, NMU students, and young adults are invited to join us for an evening of bowling at Supe-rior Entertainment at 6 pm on Sunday, Nov 6th. And if you’re a little bit older, that’s ok too, the more the merrier!
