Mungo and Logan (P3C) both did karate gradings over the weekend and received their new belts- Logan got yellow and Mungo got white. They go to the Kokoro Dojo class and to receive their belts they had to know the whole of the Kata Taikyoku Shodan (a sequence of moves), how to do different stands and some different block drills. Mungo- “ I felt happy that I got my belt but sad that I missed the Christmas party afterwards!” Logan- “I was relieved that I got the belt and when I was doing the examination I felt kind of scared!” The boys will now be working towards their orange (Logan) and yellow (Mungo) belts. Well done boys!

Ross McIntosh in P6B recently achieved his Level 7 skiing award at Hillend Ski Centre. Well done Ross!

This week was the final ski lesson at Towerbank for a while. The feedback from ski instructors was extremely positive. "Excellent listeners, courteous, and great ambassadors for the school"

We are very proud of Maisie McElroy in P2c for passing her Highland dancing exams and receiving the ‘Quicker Picker Upper’ award at her dance school annual awards party, for learning so quickly. She also took part in a Highland dancing competition at the commonwealth pool and won 4 gold medals, 1 silver and 1 bronze. She received the winners Trophy for her age group.

P7 £1 Challenge. What’s that? You may be asking. The £1 Challenge is a P7 event where all the students are given £1 from the school. We need to grow our £1 by making our own businesses. We a big sale day on Friday 8th December where we sold our things “I thought it was an amazing experience and I hope to do it in high school” - Harry “it was absolutely amazing”- Magnus. “It was tiring, stressful, but still fun”- Jamie. We raised a spectacular total of £3198.28! One third of this will be donated to CCLASP and The Edinburgh Cat and Dog Home. Another third will go towards our new school library. The final third was used to pay for our trip to see ‘Wonder’ at the cinema and we will have a think about what to do with the rest of our share. Thank you for helping us to raise such an outstanding amount of money!
