CONTENTS All for Him Prayer Needs "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Philippians 4:13 KJV) A few weeks ago I began reading this verse in a different way. It goes like this: “Christ strength- eneths me through all the things I do.” I believe strength comes before I begin anything. It comes in the person of Jesus Christ, when I begin to seek His will, not “my things.” His power comes during the action part of the process, but His strength through encouragement and leading come first. Otherwise, we would never aempt to do the things we are doing. is new under- standing makes a big difference in the way I live my life. When I do “His things,” strength comes, but when I try to do “my things,” for some reason I remain powerless. When we came to Romania we had a plan of our own and an agenda to ac- complish. We prayed and believed that God was going to help us accomplish these goals, useful things for the Kingdom and the people of Eastern Europe. As time went by we discovered that some of the things we planned for were not on God’s agenda, only on ours. As we continued to live here in Romania doing ministry, the will of God was revealed to us lile by lile. First, we had to obey and start moving in the direction He was leading. t H E All for Him June 2015 Aſter that, slowly but surely, God’s will began to unfold. It was in the process of doing ministry that His will became clearer. I guess we are un- able to understand or even accept the will of God unless we get ourselves started in the process of obeying. “I can do all things...” the Scriptures says, but it is easier said than done. As a missionary I face dif- ficulties choosing out of the “all things” the things that God wants me to focus on that day. at’s why prayer (when I talk to God) and meditation (when I am waiting for Him to speak to me) is so important for the Christian. Prayer without meditation only reinforces what we think is right. Meditation has a way of eliminating the good and enables us to focus on the best, the perfect will of God for our lives and ministry.
