Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253. Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation.

Upcoming SMP Meetings, Trips and Special Events 06/06 – MCAS Camp Pendleton & MAG-39 Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1200 at Hall of Heroes Bldg. 2368 06/07 – Camp Pendleton Installation SMP Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1330 at Lake O’Neill 06/08 – Commanding General Cup Mud Run – How Hard Corps are you? Test yourself against challenging obstacles including mud pits & slippery hill. 5-man teams, Boots & Utes. Race starts 0800 at Lake O'Neill. Day of race registration & packet pick-up at 0600. Earn CG Cup participation points & a finisher medal. Get more info at: www.hardcorpsraceseries.com 06/15 – San Diego County Fair– With attendance of 1,565,933 people last year, you have to see what all the excitement is about! $10 per person includes transportation & admission into the fairgrounds. Group departs Semper Fit HQ at 1200. Registration currently open until June 13th. 06/20 – CG Bowling Tournament – 0730 at Leatherneck Lanes. Four person teams, limited to 40 teams. Pre-registration highly encouraged. Day of registration 0730 – 0815 if space is available. Commanding General’s Cup Points awarded for this tournament. 06/29 – Venice Beach - Venice Beach has been the prime location for over 60 movies including, “Speed”, “LA Story” and “White Men Can’t Jump” Come see this location in person - $5.00 per person includes transportation & a day of exploring Venice Beach. Group departs Semper Fit HQ at 0700. Registration opens June 6th & closes June 27th. 30 spots available. 07/07 – Shore Fishing – No need to tell “fish stories” here – come catch some actual fish or learn how to fish! Departure of 0700 from Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 $20.00 covers fishing license, bait, fishing poles, transportation and lunch. Please wear closed-toed shoes. Registration opens June 12th & closes July 3rd. 07/13 – Water Park – Grab your trunks, bathing suits, sunblock & adventurous spirit to hit the slides & pools at the water park! Departure of 0900 from Semper Fit HQ Bldg 1253 $20.00 cover transportation and admission into the park. Registration opens June 12th & closes July 10th. 30 spots available.

SSMP Volunteer Opportunities

Retirement Home Visits Have dinner with the residents. Bravos are the requested uniform for these events. Max of 6-10 volunteers needed for each opportunity. Each event begins at 1600. 06/08 - Rancho Vista Retirement Home 06/09 - Pacific Place Retirement Home 06/30 - Fairwinds Retirement Home 06/16 & 06/30 - 1000 Base Stables Volunteer Day Camp Pendleton Stables, Bldg. 1516. Participants will help clean & groom horses, clean stalls, & help with general maintenance at the stables. Uniform of the day is civilian attire. Closed toed shoes are required. A maximum of 10 participants are needed for this opportunity. Participants must sign up prior to the event. Bring water! 06/28 – 0800 CDC Olympics Volunteers will host a two-hour fitness challenge at an on-base child development center. All volunteers must meet at Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253 at 0800. Please eat breakfast before you arrive. Dress attire is the Marine Corps Running Suit with green PT shorts and plain skivvy shirt underneath. Lunch will be provided. 20 volunteers needed.
