They are also rebuilding the stair­case in the museum and we will nolonger have to duck our heads underthe beam. Jim (park carpenter) hasdone a great job on the walls inthe other area of the basement,which will make for a much betterworking area. He has put in a dropceiling with fluorescent lighting.Quite an improvement.

Our annual buffet and auction were ahuge success. About 56 peopleenjoyed a wonderful dinner cateredby Wa-pa-gettes. Several members' ,provided salads and desserts. No onewent home hungry.

I apologize that due to circum­stances beyond our control, noFebruary issue of our newsletterwas sent out.

We auctioned quite a few items fromthe Columbian Gardens, Bon Aire andChevy Chase (all the same place),china, silver coffee servers, armoramd things from a Pillsbury Dough­boy to a funeral urn. Lively biddingmade for a jolly time. A big thanksto one and all who made this eveningso much fun. A Special thanks toLonnie Schnaitmann and her committee.

A Nominating Committee was appointedand it is hoped names will bepresented for the offices of Vice­President, Secretary, Treasurer andtwo Directors at our March meeting.If anyone has suggestions, pleasecall one of the committee members.Thanking you in advance .

~\\ ti or 8 20 oz. apples peeled & sliced1 tbsp. lemon juice'A c. flour'A c. brown sugarA tsp. salt

·'ktsp. cinnamon,!i tbsp. iiutter or marg;

Heat ove~ to 3750• Place apples in oblong' baking dish.

Sprinkle with lemon juice.' Combine flour, sugar, salt,cinnamon, and butter. With fingers work together untilcoarse crumbs are·formed. Sprinkle over apples. Bake 30minutes or until crumbs are lightly browned. Serve With ic€

For all of you who we(~e lIut dLuunuLollipop Lane was a huge success.About 750 children plus parentswere in attendance. With the helpof our donors of monies, colors,marking pens, etc; everything wentoff well. Also 49 cook books andhome made cookies (which weredonated) were sold. Again thanksto Lonnie and her committee fora job well done.

The museum was open the lastweekend of Lollipop Lane. Thanksto Lorraine Haben and Linda Readingfor the decorating they did. Therewere a few visitors as this is thefi_rst ti.me it's been open in a whi.lebut we are hoping next year morevisitors will check it out.
