ABOUT THE EVENTThe Law and Policy Debate: an inter-university dialogue is aninteractive exhibition debate which features the best andbrightest student debaters from the Ateneo de Manila UniversityLaw School and the University of Sto. Tomas Law School.

This event will be held on Tuesday, 9 June 2015 from 1:00pm to4:00pm in the House Minority Conference Room, North WingBasement at the House of Representatives in the BatasangPambansa Complex, Quezon City.

The two debate teams will argue the motion: let it be resolved thatmedical marijuana should be legalized in the Philippines (HouseBill No. 4477).

This event, which will be attended by members of the law schoolcommunity, the academe, civil society groups, members ofCongress and their staff, serves to generate discourse and createawareness regarding important national issues and legislativemeasures pending in Congress, particularly in relation to medicalcannabis, as detailed in House Bill No. 4477, or “TheCompassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Act”.

THE ORGANIZERSThis event has been organized by the Teehankee Center for theRule of Law and Ateneo’s St. Thomas More Debate and AdvocacySociety, in partnership with the Office of Hon. Rodolfo T. Albano III(First District, Isabela) and the Office of Hon. Leah S. Paquiz (ANGNARS Partylist).
