From Mrs. Marla Dear Parents, This month I’m continuing with my elementary school class visits. The topic this month is “Avoiding Illnesses” and I will be covering how germs are spread, proper hand washing technique, bathroom hygiene, cold etiquette and what to do when you are sick. Next month, I will begin my annual BMI screening so to go along with that theme, I’ll be talking to the kids about obesity, fitness and the importance of exercise. ISC Holiday Concert The program will feature performances by ensembles and soloists from the ISC middle and high school music programs. It will take place December 7th, 2010 at the ISC Gym/Auditorium from 7:00 - 8:00pm

UN Day Thank you to the entire ISC community for your involvement and collaboration during UN Day! It was a successful event! We would like to congratulate the winners of the UN Day Photo Contest, they were: Juliette Govaerts from 4B; Stephanie Govaerts from 7A and Jaydev Hemrajani from grade 12. Also, the Curacao booth received a certificate for the Most Attractive booth during UN Day. The Curacao booth had an amazing display! The United States of America booth was also recognized as the Most Original booth; this year’s theme was baseball and they really did a great job! Thank you to all parents and students who collaborated to make this school-wide event a successful one.
