Dear Brothers andSisters, Members andFriends of the Hill United

    Presbyterian Church:

November brings with it ournational holiday of giving thanks forthe blessings that we do have in ourlives.

In a former Pastorate, one of ourchurch members loved the gospelsong, Count Your Blessings.

One of the stanzas to that songreads this way:

When upon lifes billows you aretempest-tossed, when you arediscouraged, thinking all is lost, countyour many blessings, name them oneby one, and it will surprise you whatthe Lord hath done!

This gospel song echoes thewords of Paul in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, prayconstantly, give thanks in allcircumstances; for this is the will ofGod in Christ Jesus for you.

In our stewardship of this lifethrough our time, talent, and

treasure, what a tremendous blessingto serve our Lord Jesus Christ.Happy Thanksgiving and the

grace of our Lord Jesus Christ bewith you!

    Stewardship Emphasis Time

    and 2015 Stewardship Campaign

    Abundant Giving

    Dear Friends,

By now you should have received the 2015 stewardship letter and pledge form. Our 2015 stewardship

message comes from 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 and reads: The point is this: the one who sows sparingly will

also reap sparingly, and the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each of you must give as

you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. This

lesson challenges us to recognize that we have been abundantly blessed by God and thereby, through the

Grace of God, can give abundantly to meet the needs of others.

As in past years our stewardship emphasis time started with leadership giving by members of the Session

and Board of Deacons. Our church leaders pledged a total of $51,260.00 tosupport the ministries and

programs of Hill Church for 2015. And as of October 29, 2014 additional pledges totaling $81,332.00 have

been received from other members of our Hill Church family of faith for a combined total of $132,592.00.

If you have not already done so, please prayerfully consider how you can support the mission and

ministries of Hill Church. Please complete the pledge form that came with your stewardship message and

return it in the envelope provided. If you have misplaced your pledge form you may use the form included

with this newsletter article. You may return your pledge form by mailing it to the church office or placing

it in the offering plate during worship.

During the next two months the Session will continue our stewardship emphasis and prepare the 2015 HillChurch budget. We are hopeful that even in these challenging times you and your family will continue to

share your time, talent and treasure, giving abundantly as God has given to you.

Thank you for honoring God through your support of the ministries and mission of Hill Church. Your

    generosity makes all the difference!

The Stewardship and Mission Support Committee
