Over the past few years Fr. Steve has been able to proudly tell his fellow priests that St. Peter’s Parish has a high percentage of parishioners involved in the Arise program. The good numbers show that our parish is alive and committed to our faith. Now St. Peter’s Parish has committed to participating in the continuation of Arise with a new program called “Why Catholic.” This program will run for six weeks from Oct. 7th to the week of

November 11th. Please consider signing up for this series of group meetings to be held at various homes as well as in the parish. If you have not been able to attend during the past years, this is a great time to join. “Sign up

Sundays” are September 30th, October 7th and 14th after Mass in the parish hall. Talk to your friends about participating in this new program. Based on the experience of previous groups, you will get to know your fellow parishioners better, learn about your faith, and find strength in the prayer and fellowship.

Per paskutinius kelis metus, kunigas Žukas galėjo drąsiai pasigirti kitiems kunigams kad mūsų parapijoje didelis procentas dalyvauna „Kelkis“ būreliuose. Šie nemaži skaičiai įrodo kad mūsų parapija gyvuoja ir pasiryžus išlaikyti savo tikėjimą. Šv. Petro parapija ir toliau dalyvauna „Kelkis“ prisijungdama prie naujos programos, „Kodėl katalikas.“ Ši programa tęsis 6 savaites pradedant spalio 7-tą iki lapkričio 18-tos. Prisirašymo sekmadieniai: rugsėjo 30-tą, spalio 7-tą, ir 14-tą, po 10:30 val. mišių, parapijos salėje. Dalyvavę „Kelkis“ grupėse sutinka kad tai proga geriau susipažinti su kitais parapijiečiais, savo tikėjimu, ir atasti ramstį maldoje ir bendravimę.

St. Peter Lithuanian Parish The collections from our weekend Mass attendance are not sufficient to pay for parish expenses. We depend upon the constant generosity of loyal friends and parishioners of the parish to make a substantial contribution in the GRAND ANNUAL COLLECTION. This effort represents 34% of our collected income. Your generosity is a tribute to the love and devotion of parents, grandparents, and founders of the parish.

Dear Parishioners and Extended Family Members of St. Peter Lithuanian Parish,

Garbė Jėzui Kristui! Praised be Jesus Christ! I hope you have enjoyed your summer!

I am saddened to share with you that Sunday, September 9th, our weekly collection was stolen. If you donated in

cash that Sunday, please contact the parish office at 617-268-0353, so that we can help you report this on your year-end tax statement.

Please know that we are taking every possible step to see that this does not happen again. Since Masses have returned to the main church for the Fall, we have a more secure location to store donations before they are deposited. Additionally, a representative from the Archdiocese has come to the parish to help us implement a more secure process that will ensure that your very generous contributions to the ministry of Saint Peter Lithuanian Parish are safeguarded.

As we reflect on this difficult situation, let us ask God not only for strength in the face of hardship, but also for the grace to forgive others.

IEŠKOME PAGELBOS

Savaitinės kavutės po 10:30 v.r. mišiu yra graži, ilgai tęsianti tradicija mūsų parapijoje. Jau virš dvidešimt metų parapijiečiai su dideliu malonumu renkasi bažnyčios salėje po šventų mišių, ne tik skaniai pavalgyti bet ir pasisvečiuoti, pasikalbėti ir pabendrauti. Dažnai, atvykę svečiai iš kitų miestų, parapijų ir net iš Lietuvos tuoj pat supranta ir įvertina šių kavučiu tikslą – proga parapiečiams susiburti ir artimiau vienus kitus pažinti.

Kavučių tradicija prasidėjo a.a. Onos Merkienės dėka o dabar jau virš dešimt metų šią parapijai svarbią tradiciją veda p. Adelė Povilavičienė ir p. Elena Kuncaitienė. Šios dvi pasišventusios moterys, šaunios parapijietės, pranešė kad jos rugsėjo gale jau išeis į pensiją. Mes tikimės kad parapiečiu tarpe atsiras asmuo/pora/grupė kuri apsiims šį parapijai svarbų darbą.

Kviečiame visus parapijiečius pagalvoti ir apsvarstyti šia situaciją ir pasisiūlyti perimti šias pareigas . Malonėkite iki spalio7-tos dienos susisiekti su klebonu po mišių, telefonu 617-268-0353 arba epaštu klebonas@me.com pasisiūlyti ir aptarti šį reikalą.

HELP NEEDED

The weekly coffee hours after 10:30 mass are a long standing, much appreciated and enjoyed tradition in our parish. For more than 20 years, parishioners have gathered in the church hall after mass not only to enjoy delicious refreshments but also to socialize with fellow parishioners. Visitors to the parish, who witness the coffee hour, are quick to comment that our coffee hour tradition is to be envied.

The coffee hours began over twenty years ago thanks to the initiative taken by Mrs. Ona Merkys and have continued due to the dedication of Mrs. Adele Povilavicius and Mrs. Elena Kuncaitis. These selfless parishioners have informed us that at the end of September, they will be retiring from their duties. We are optimistic and hopeful that some caring individual/couple/group will volunteer to carry on the parish coffee hour tradition.

We invite and encourage all parishioners to consider the situation and offer to help. Please contact the pastor by October 7th by speaking to him after mass, by phone at 617-268-0353 or via email at klebonas@me.com to discuss the situation.

Let‘s continue our long standing tradition of coffee/social hours after mass. Be a part of parish life organizing the weekly coffee hours. We shall await your responses to this request.
