Managers Note

In the Past, Present & Looking Forward......

As we move in to the darker days, and cooler temperatures of autumn, we can reflect on the wonderful summer weather this year, and all the fun times we have had!

Residents have enjoyed exploring different creative activities, with some in their rooms enjoying knitting and colouring, and scrap book making, and in the lounge, others have been exploring chalk drawing, and different techniques of working with poster paints. With jigsaw puzzles and word games and quizzes remaining favourites in the lounge.

Outside in recent weeks we have enjoyed fruit picking and tea and cake on the terrace, what glorious late summer sun we have had. This was followed by Dexter dogs first birthday on 4th October, though the weather had changed somewhat outside, the mood inside was bright and fun, as we all celebrated the little fella’s birthday with him, playing games and listening to doggy themed music!

Music continues to be an important part of our residents’ days, be that listening to, singing along to CDs or enjoying the performance and charisma of entertainers whom we invite in to the lounge! We have recently delighted in Tristan Pate, one of our favourites, who plays guitar and sings for us, and a new musical visitor we have welcomed to Heathfield is Alan Hook and his saxophone!

Our Christmas fun is now in the planning, we are looking forward to decoration and card crafting, and more to be confirmed! Look out on the boards for activities planned for the remainder of the year, and if you have any suggestions to make, or offerings for our bric-a-brac stall at the coffee morning or for raffles, feel free to drop them off with me or at the main office.

Dear All,

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff and friends, families and visitors to the home who work hard, and help support everyone at Heathfield House.

Kay continues to work hard to provide a variety of activities for our residents and as ever remains open to any new ideas or suggestions.
