These will go out in week 9 on Thursday 21 st June. Teachers will be available for interviews in week 10 from Monday 25 th June to Friday 29 th June. Notes about these will go out next week. eLearning Mitchell Elliott, from Year 6, had the wonderful privilege of participating in the Bucketts Way Community of Schools eLearning Project this term. The focus for this year’s project was to construct an anthology of poems un- der a variety of themes and then present them at an eLearning Expo at Gloucester High School. Mitchell was mentored by students from Year 9 at the High School who provided him with feedback on his poems. At the Expo, last Friday, Mitchell and students from all the Bucketts Way schools presented their works and anthologies. Mitchell used a PowerPoint to present his item which highlighted his four excellent pieces of work. Well Done Mitchell!! Wetlands Excursion I had a conversation with a staff member from the Wetlands Centre who spoke very highly of our children at both yesterday’s K-3 excursion and of the 4 -6 excursion last week. I felt very proud of our school after hearing the very positive comments she made about our children’s excellent behaviour and attitude. Our children were very inquisitive, involved and showed a love of learning. This says a great deal about our children, our school and our parents. I can report from my observations that the K-3 group had a wonderful time at the excursion and were immersed (no pun intended) in the wetlands activities. Rewards Day We will have our last Rewards day for the term on Friday, 29th June. Apart from the usual ‘rewards’, I will be providing a sausage sizzle for all children on the day. This is to recognise the high level of good behaviour that the children have displayed this term. Let’s get physical Getting outside for just a short while everyday is healthy in many ways. In just 10-20 minutes you can receive your daily dose of vitamin D, important for bones, muscles and overall health. Vitamin D is not readily available from food, so good old fashioned sunlight for a few minutes a day (outside peak UV times of course) is the best way to get it. Heading outside also ensures you and your kids get some physical exercise and a break from TV and computer screens. For more ideas to get physical go to: www.activekids.org.au/ Telling the time Learning to tell the time is one of those life skills that, well, takes time. There are some great resources on the School A to Z website that can help. This page includes a downloadable clock template and both analogue and digital time references. www.schoolatoz.nsw.edu.au/detresources/tell_the_time_uHKOzycPnd.pdf Max Labecki Principal

P & C News Canteen Helpers The canteen needs your help. We urgently need some more can-teen volunteers to go onto our roster. If you can help us, please contact Kim or Juanita. P & C Dates to Remember 27th June P & C Meeting 5.30pm

Thank you to all the families who voted on the uniform change, the votes have been counted and while several families preferred to keep the pale blue shirts, twice as many voted to change to Option 1. The P and C have decided that we will make the new shirts available from the end of term 4 (ready for 2013) or sooner if we run out of current stock. Please remember that we expect the change-over to take about 2 years, you will not be expected to purchase the shirts immediately. Just a reminder that we have the flying jackets and jumpers in stock now, the jackets are shower proof and fleecy lined , great for extra warmth on these cold mornings.
