experiences to teach them what God's Word has to say about the 'Golden Rule', how to be polite, how to forgive, and how to confess and repent of sin. Never underestimate God's ability to develop spiritual character and teach spiritual truths to your children, even at a very early age. While their heart is still young and tender, introduce them to Jesus. Some of the greatest Christians in history were saved at an early age. Jonathan Edwards, whose ministry shook New England for God, was saved at the age of eight. Charles Spurgeon, 'the prince of preach-ers', was saved at the age of 12. Matthew Henry, the great Bible com-mentator, was saved at the age of 11. Timothy was an apostle, it is believed, by the time he was 17. Paul writes, 'From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salva-tion through faith in Christ Jesus' (2 Timothy 3:15 NIV). Yes, your child can understand the basic truths about salvation. And they can come to know Christ at an early age. Soulfood: Rom 1:1-3:20, John 8:12-30, Ps 133, Prov 29:15-18

FRIENDS OF WESTMINSTER

Your fundraising this year has bough the following recently:

We now have a mobile sound system that we can use for all indoor and

outdoor events eg. athletics, cross country etc. It has amazing volume,

allows us to play music and is also compatible with our current indoor

system, enabling to expand on what we already have.

Also Friends money allowed us to purchase an eFun Table for all children

in the library. This is a giant android tablet built into a table to be used by

6-8 children at a time. It will be used for topic discussions, group research

as well as for eBook reading. At times that the library is closed, classroom

teachers can take their classes in to use the eFun Table.

Thank you to the Friends of Westminster for allowing us to purchase two

items if such valuable use for all children to use. As you, as parents, got

behind Friends of Westminster this year, we were able to purchase such

exciting extra helpful additions for the children of our school.

Newsletter—T4.W6.2017—Page 3 Disciplining Children

It has been brought to my notice that a very small number of children are

coming to school with stories of being hit by parents or grandparents. The

New Zealand Law is very clear that children should not be hit in any way.

There are 2 or 3 times at school where I have had to contact Child Youth

Protection Services because the children have needed support or assistance as

they have been hit.

I am not by law allowed to overlook any abuse to children and as Christians

we should always work by the law of our country. If things are out of order at

home and you can’t see your way out please let us know so we can help you.

We will deal with matters professionally and confidentially.

Bzzzzzzzzzz Your children may go home today telling you all

about the a swarm of bees at school today! It was discovered yesterday afternoon in a tree by the Senior Playground. We thought you might find

this photo of interest!

Mr Hoek had a local bee keeper come and take them away for us.

It certainly caused some excitement amongst the kids!
