Newsletter No. 82 Winter/Spring 2012-2013

We most definitely experienced 2012, an emotional, historic, and memorable year, filled with moments of sorrow at one extreme to those of joy and celebration at the other. The passing of our founder and President, Grandmaster Jae C. Shin, occurred on

July 9th. While filled with sadness, we created a successful World Championship on July 20th and 21st. Then we fulfilled a 20 year old dream by creating the

grand opening of our WTSDA headquarters building on July 22nd. The year of 2012, was our 30 year anniversary, and although our hearts

were heavy with missing our founder and Grandmaster, we honored the dedication of 19 of our Masters at a special banquet. Our

organization is fully grown and has reached a mature stage of development. As I reflect on the increases in Clubs, Studios,

Memberships, and Testing Applications, I enthusiastically expect our organization will remain firm and strong and will grow during the next 30 years and beyond, with the

same enthusiasm and energy. The last volume of the book series

(Volume VI - Master’s Text) has been a huge success for increasing the Building Fund. Plans are being implemented to finishing the upstairs guest rooms at the headquarters building and beginning the construction of Grandmaster Shin’s Meditation Garden, which will commemorate his ashes and include a bronze statue. We have exceeded a record number of 200 attendees for our US Masters Clinic and have planned a resurrected cultural exchange China/Korea Delegation trip this August.

My wish for all of our World Tang Soo Do families is to get much healthier, happier, and

prosperous in 2013.

God bless you all!Grandmaster Robert Beaudoin

Region 2 held their annual Championship and Fall Black Belt test on September 28-29, 2012 in the resort town of Mesquite, Nevada. The event was attended by more than ten studios

and clubs. The event began Friday evening with the Black Belt test. The testing board was comprised of two senior 5th Dan Masters; Johnny Williamson and David Roberts and two 4th Dan Masters; Chris Pacini and Ross Lindsay. The test ran smoothly thanks to the organizational skills of Mrs. Natalie Cannon, 3rd Dan, owner of Kando Karate. Though all of the candidates displayed true Tang Soo Do talent, skill, and professionalism, one stood out above the rest. Ms. Ruth Aviles-Vieyra, 3rd Dan candidate, was awarded the Region 2 most spirited Black Belt for the fall test cycle. At the conclusion of the Black Belt test, all Region 2 studio/club owners and board members gathered to plan next year’s sanctioned events. The 2013 Region 2 championship will be held In Gilbert, Arizona and hosted by Master Chris Pacini of Pacini Tang Soo Do. The doors opened early on Saturday morning to welcome competitors and spectators to the annual championship. This year’s event was hosted by Mr. Andrew Docstader, 3rd Dan, owner of Lion Heart Tang Soo Do, and was attended by approximately 150 competitors. Thanks to the team work and talents of Mr. Docstader and his crew, with the assistance of Master Lindsay acting as the MC, the tournament ran smoothly and efficiently. The Black Belt divisions competed first followed by the opening ceremonies. Regional Director, Senior Master Williamson, welcomed all participants and two special guests; International 6th Dan Master John Bennett

from Reno, Nevada and Mr. Sheraad Karimoeddin, 3rd Dan, from the Netherlands. Master Williamson also presented Senior Master Roberts, previous Regional Director, with a plaque of appreciation for his many

years of service to Region 2. Following the opening ceremonies, competition resumed beginning with the creativity division. The creativity teams demonstrated talent and high spirits, complimented by excellent music, costumes and props. All teams did their best and provided a great performance. At the conclusion of the competition Starworld Martial Arts, AMAF, was awarded first place. Second place went to Starworld Martial Arts, Goodyear, and Red Rock Martial Arts took

third. The Tiny Tiger and Little Dragons were next to compete. Everyone enjoyed watching the spirited 4 to 7 year olds perform. All youth and adult competitors had the opportunity to display their skill and spirit as the tournament continued. Thanks to the efficiency of the judges and tournament staff the championship finished on time. Following the competition everyone gathered for dinner, dancing and social time. Everyone, especially the children, had a great time dancing to music provided by a fantastic DJ. As everyone departed on Sunday the sounds of goodbyes where mixed with the promises to meet again at next year’s championship. The tentative date for next year’s tournament is September 28, 2013 and will be held in Gilbert, Arizona.

Unlike many other regions in the World Tang Soo Do Association, which are situated within one country, Region 14 comprises of many countries. The region is prospering with many students in different studios and clubs in their respective countries. The true spirit of Tang Soo Do is demonstrated across borders to help grow the region and the World Tang Soo Do Family as a whole.

Another country was recently welcomed to Region 14 and the World Tang Soo Do Association. Botswana Tang Soo Do is based in Gaborone, the capital city of Botswana. It was recently started and has been training students since last year, March 2010. Training is provided by Bo Kyu Sah Nim Lebogang Ramhago. Botswana Tang Soo Do has successfully done two test cycles since it opened its doors. The first test was held in the fall of November 2010, with Master Alex Goule, Regional Director from Mozombique Tang Soo Do, Sah Bum Nim Evandro Swallbalch from Cape Town Tang Soo Do and Sah Bum Nim Roberto Bovo from Pretoria Tang Soo Do as the examiners. The students of Botswana Tang Soo Do found the experience very encouraging. The second test took place in April 2011. Sah Bum Nim Veronica Amorim from South African Tang Soo Do made her second visit and acted as examiner. Through the camaraderie shown by those within Region 14, the students of Botswana Tang Soo Do will enjoy all the benefits of belonging to the World Tang Soo Do Association.

Competitors and family members joined together once again to celebrate another year in Region 7 during our annual Championship held on November 3rd. This year’s tournament

came with a great deal of change with the loss of our dear Grandmaster Shin and the relocation of the WTSDA Headquarters to our region. As our region grows, so does our responsibility to continue Grandmaster Shin’s vision for World Tang Soo Do as a way of life, built on a strong sense of brotherhood. This year marked the addition of new studios and the promotion of Mr. Young of Carolina Martial Arts to Master. Master Strong was on hand to perform the promotion ceremony and to remind us all that by working together, we can all achieve great things for ourselves, our studios, and the WTSDA. Setting a great example for leadership in our region was the Studio of the Year winner, Chapel Hill Tang Soo Do. The Instructor of the Year went to Lynn Montgomery from Scota Karate Academy. Student of the Year went to Cathryn Lyons from Twin Dragons Martial Arts & Fitness. Family of the Year was once again the Davis/Larson family from Twin Dragons Martial Arts & Fitness and the Community Service Award went to Maxim Williams from Scota Karate Academy. The scholarship check was awarded to Ben Causby from Causby Karate Academy and the Spirit Award from the Fall Black Belt Test was awarded to Judy Mayfield from Palmetto Panther Martial Arts. A special award for his dedication to the WTSDA was awarded to Mr. Barker who will be leaving our region to return to Alaska with his family. He will be greatly missed. The division winners of this year’s Region 7 Championship were Aubrey Plourde from Scota Karate Academy for Junior Gup Champion, Jeffrey Carreon from Causby Karate Academy for Senior Gup Champion, Roberta Barnes from Scota Karate Academy for Adult Gup Champion, Noah Block from Scota Karate Academy for Junior Advanced Gup Champion, Kristin McMahon

from Chapel Hill Tang Soo Do for Senior Advanced Gup Champion, Kenny Wagner from Scota Karate Academy for Adult Advanced Gup Champion, Andy Golla from Scota Karate Academy for Junior Black Belt Champion, Lynn Montgomery from Scota Karate Academy for Senior Black Belt Champion and Carlos Rodrigues from Scota Karate Academy for Adult Black Belt Champion. Congratulations to all the competitors for a job well done.A well run event has many people working hard behind the scenes. Thank you once again to Master Young and Carolina Martial Arts for hosting the Championship.

Congratulations to Ms. Montgomery for taking over the Scholarship Committee Chair position and transitioning so well. We had a wonderful raffle and sale table and expect great things for 2013. Thank you to all the studios who brought the extraordinary raffle baskets to support our scholarship fund. Thank you to Chad Smith from Palmetto Panther Martial Arts, Tina Stevens and Michael Patterson from Gilreath Karate for being our security team for this event. Thank you to Dr. Davis from Twin Dragons and Mr. Padgett from Palmetto Panther Martial

Arts for providing our First Aid. Thank you to Master Kuehner for being our Championship announcer and to Master Scota for handling all the Championship entries and results. A very special thank you goes to Master Strong for honoring us with the Friday night workout and attending our 2012 Championship. As we say farewell to 2012, we will boldly face any challenge that 2013 has to offer. The 2013 calendar of events offers plenty of wonderful training opportunities for our studios. Region 7 will proudly represent the WTSDA and continue the tradition of brotherhood and knowledge under the guidance of Grandmaster Beaudoin and all the Masters of our beloved association.

The ecoNomic crisis iN greece

For the last two years Greece has been under the greatest economic crisis in its history. Greek citizens have reached their limits. In a country with 9 million people, the official registered

unemployed has reached 1,000,000, while unofficially is estimated to be far greater than 1,500,000. Within the past two years people who still have their jobs have seen their salaries reduced by 50% while the government, almost daily, announces new financial measures for the sake of state’s economical survival. Tougher measures have already been announced for the upcoming months! Greeks have fallen into despair. The majority suffer from depression. They fail to see hope, and don’t have the strength to see the future under a more optimistic scope. We even have suicides because of the situation. Experiencing all of the above in our everyday life, those of us who exercise in a traditional martial art, consider ourselves lucky. Through Tang Soo Do and all of its benefits we are able to deal with the above situation in a calm and peaceful way. We are fortunate having the chance to meet Tang Soo Do and make it part of our everyday life since our childhood. We have learned to recognize the real values in life and not those imposed from everyday lifestyle. We focus on the spiritual side of life rather than the material. The economic crisis can hurt us only in a material way. Those who have based their happiness in non-material goods are not afraid of losing anything because no one can take away what they have inside of them. Their psychological situation cannot be disturbed due to their internal balance. A major part of

Tang Soo Do consists of an emphasis on the non-material values in a person’s life. They can’t take our practice. The joy and spiritual awakening that we feel when we do hyung cannot be taken away. To continue to “live” all we need is a do bohk. We don’t need anything else, not even shoes! The second important benefit we have gained through hard and painful practice in Tang Soo Do is the cultivation

of “Indomitable” spirit. This is the spirit which tells you to keep practicing when your body screams in pain and feels that it can no longer make it. Developing through years of training, this indomitable spirit provides an inner strength and discipline, giving us the power to overcome every obstacle we face in our lives. The third and most important benefit that derives from our engagement with Tang Soo Do is that we belong to the large family of the WORLD TANG SOO DO ASSOCIATION!! This association is an example for many others and is led by a charismatic lead figure that shows the way with vision, discipline, and commitment to its target, Grandmaster JAE CHUL SHIN. For all of us there is no better example to get strength and courage, to continue creating and growing, and achieving the goal of the Association. 20 years of non-stop effort and commitment to the goal of building a new headquarters of this size!! This achievement shows us the ability that we may have as a nation if we establish goals and persevere. All of the instructors are grateful that we are students of the Korean traditional martial art of Tang Soo Do and family members of the World Tang Soo Do Association. Through various examples, Tang Soo Do has shown us that man has unlimited potential as long as he tries in the right spirit! As instructors, it is our duty to apply this knowledge in everyday life and educate our students and others so that together we can make a better and more hopeful tomorrow. We are grateful to the Association and Grandmaster, who, through their way show us our way.

makiNg “hal-aBeoji” shiN proudI, like all of us, find myself thinking about the impact

Grandmaster Shin and Tang Soo Do have had on my life. I, gratefully, associated myself with a man and organization which does not discriminate against women. I have known women who attempted to train in the martial arts only to be shamed out of class and told that martial arts were for men. You have to understand that this was back in the 70’s. Martial arts was still fairly new in the U.S., however, at this time Kwan Chang Nim was already forging the way for women in the martial arts. John and I married in 1980, moved to Reno, Nevada in 1981, and started Tang Soo Do in Reno. We started looking at martial art’s place in our new family. We realized that families needed to be cohesive in order to be successful. Tang Soo Do was the perfect glue. Our children grew up in the studio learning maturity, leadership, friendship and physical success. They felt that KCN Shin cared for them and wanted them to be successful both in and out of the studio. They loved KCN Shin as a grandfather and would look forward to seeing him at the various events we attended.

We now have grandchildren who are growing up in the studio. Our granddaughter met Grandmaster Shin at the 2010 World Tournament. He signed the bottom of her foot and laughed as the 1 year old tried to look at the writing on

her foot. She competed in front of “Hal-abeoji Shin” (Grand Father Shin) a year ago at the age of 2. The smile on his face as he signed her Tiny Tiger medal was priceless. Nyka, like the rest of us, was looking forward to seeing him again at the 2012 World Tournament. At this tournament she, with the innocent wisdom of a 3-year-old, said, “Hal-abeoji is proud of us. He is watching us from Heaven’s window.” So, first, what other activity

has such a family feel? Secondly, what activity is this amazingly

multigenerational? The only other thing that has had this much influence on me and my family is our church. Thank you Grandmaster Jae Chul Shin for helping to shape my life, my children’s lives, and now my grandchildren’s lives.

On Saturday, August 4th, 2012, students and instructors from New England gathered to remember Grandmaster

Jae C. Shin with a memorial picnic at the Meriden Boys and Girls Club Cuno Camp. After the Region 9 Black Belt test in the morning where thirty three students showed their skills, family and friends came together to share food, drink, and great stories about the man who shared his life to make a true Tang Soo Do family. After a delicious potluck meal, where the region supplied hot dogs and everyone else contributed salads, desserts, side dishes and drinks, the memorial service began. The service started by showing a captioned interview in Korean of Grandmaster Shin from a Korean online magazine. He talked about his early life and how he came to America. Much of the information had never been previously seen by the students. Then a video was shown of Grandmaster Shin’s son, Rob Shin, eulogizing his father at the World Tang Soo Do memorial service in North Carolina after the world championship. This was followed by the Region 9 Masters telling stories of some of their experiences with Kwan Cha Nim.

Grandmaster Shin passed away in July after accomplishing so much in his life. Especially important to him was his dream of building a permanent world headquarters. The grand opening of this great building took place on Sunday, July 22nd, 2012 in Burlington, NC. He had another dream which was not realized before he passed. At the new World headquarters, he wanted to have a beautiful meditation garden for many to enjoy. Our region decided to raise funds during the memorial picnic to help make this last dream possible. Memorial t-shirts were sold and donations collected. Mr. Jones donated funds collected from his pre-championship tournament. With the support from all of the great students and families of our region we were able to raise $2740. What an awesome job we did. Thank you for your support!

We (members of Cape Town Tang Soo Do ) had the privilege of a 3 week visit by Master Nate Gordon during which he taught our classes twice a week. It only took the first

class for us to realize we were in the presence of a world class Master. When I first met Master Gordon I was struck by his humble , subdued mannerism. I am sure many a person would think they could beat up Master Gordon if they were to get into a fight with him. That was until he demonstrated a couple of self-defence techniques. Soon everyone ran when he asked for volunteers to show us yet another way to protect ourselves. Through his sayings ( stick out your thumb and pick a plum) and the way he taught his classes he made sure we grasped and understood the new techniques and forms. He also shared how he remembers words and codes by association which was very helpful. If you struggled with something he tried another approach and in the words of some of my fellow students:

“It was an experience we’ll never forget, and he was very patient,.” –Jamie “I like it, I like it a lot!” –Mohammed “You can see in him absolute dedication to Tang Soo Do. A man who lives by our codes and tenets.” –Ameer He ended his 3 week stay with a self-defence seminar where we could invite friends and family. One of the visitors commented afterwards that this was time very well spent and was amazed by all of the valuable knowledge they gained, especially defending themselves against knife attacks. I must admit that I feel proud to be part of the World Tang Soo Do Association. A very big thank you to Master Gordon for all his time and effort. We look forward to your return to Cape Town next year.

In Region 8 we have a total of 3 Black Belt Camps, two youth and one adult. For the first time this year I decided to volunteer as a camp counselor for the second youth camp. Though I enjoy camping and

have experience as a camp counselor from my years in the Girl Scouts, I was still a bit nervous about taking on this new challenge. I knew I was going to have a busy weekend but I also thought it would be stressful taking on the responsibility of supervising a group of campers. Well, I didn’t have to worry. Camp was a wonderful experience. My co-counselor Patty Gauani and I got along very well from the moment we met and quickly developed a friendship. We had six terrific 12 year old girls in our cabin. The girls got along well and spent most of their sports activity time together. In the evenings they stayed together as a group and made sure that they spent time at all activities. They even took time before the evening activities started to walk throughout the camp collecting trash and lost items. In addition to my duties as a counselor I had volunteered to teach flexible weapons for the breakout training sessions. When I had offered my services I was informed that the session topics had been selected as well as the instructors. My experience in girl scouting and martial arts training told me to be prepared, so I packed my ropes and safety glasses just in case one of the designated instructors was unable to attend camp. My preparations paid off. After off loading my gear into my cabin I moved my car to the parking lot. As I was leaving the parking lot I met Master Waters who was greeting the incoming counselors and campers. Master Waters recalled that I had offered to teach flexible weapons and informed me that they had an unexpected change in the schedule and needed someone to teach a breakout session. He asked if I would be willing to teach. I was thrilled that he had asked me, and of course, eagerly agreed. I retrieved my equipment from my car and instantly began to review my lesson plan. I taught one session on Friday night before a severe storm changed everyone’s plans and sent all campers and staff back to their cabins. On Saturday, Master Waters and Master Godwin decided to keep my flexible weapons session on the schedule. I taught three sessions throughout the day. It was wonderful working with the kids and seeing eyes light up when they were able to connect their newly learned skills with our Tang Soo Do techniques. I must admit that the highlight of the sessions was when one young boy, who had attended two

of my sessions, came up to me after the last session and said “this was the funnest thing ever.” On Sunday the camp had the pleasure of being woke by Mother Nature rather than an alarm. At 5am a turkey strolled through camp repeatedly calling for his companions for almost 30 minutes. Though I thought it was an excellent way to wake up, not all campers and counselors agreed. After breakfast I had the pleasure of assisting Master Fattori teach Naihanchi Cho Dan to a group of Cho Dan Bo’s. Camp concluded with the graduation ceremony. I always enjoy seeing students, young or old, achieving their goals and reaching new ranks.

When all gear was packed, and all campers from my cabin retrieved by family members, I packed my car and headed home. Though I was tired, I was very happy. I had a fantastic weekend. It wasn’t until the next day that the unexpected hit me. I am a pre-hospital registered nurse and work on a medic unit. I respond on calls for critically ill or injured people. My job has a lot of variety but also has its stressful moments. Martial arts has helped me to deal with that stress. On the Monday after camp I was kept busy from the time I started work at 7am. As the ambulance was returning me to my medic unit truck after the second call of the day, it hit me. I had the same feeling that I have after spending a week on vacation. I suddenly realized that even though my weekend was filled with responsibilities and many activities, it was a mental vacation for me. It took me away from the stresses of my work. I felt relaxed, recharged, and ready to take on whatever came my way. Who would ever think that taking on extra responsibilities would actually be a good way to reduce the stress in your life.

It was wonderful working with the kids and seeing eyes light up when they were able to connect

their newly learned skills...

WTSD Foundation NEWS WTSD Foundation NEWS

Once again this year Mimidis Karate hosted a St. Baldrick’s event. St. Baldrick’s is a volunteer driven organization that raises funds for childhood cancer research. As part of the

event, individuals, known as shavees, volunteer to have their heads shaved to show solidarity to the children who lose their hair during their cancer treatments and to raise funds. Other individuals register as volunteers and help to raise funds by getting the word out to family, friends, and coworkers. We had a fun and laughter filled day with friends and family cheering us on. A total of 21 volunteers, 13 of which were designated as shavees, participated. Among those who braved the shave were several young students and two women, myself and Brenda Fijalkowski, Cho Dan. Master Mimidis joined in and we were able to raise additional funds on the day of our event when he offered to have his head shaved. This year in addition to having one of our students, Tammy Brenner, Cho Dan, shaving our heads, we recruited a barber from our community. Dave Marshall of Marshall’s Barbershop was kind enough to volunteer his services. Adding to the fun and excitement of the day was a special guest. State Representative Keith Gillespie spent some time with us and performed the ceremonial first few swipes with the razor on my head. Our event raised $8,328, exceeding our fund raising goal of $8,000 for the second year in a row. We were able to do this because of the enthusiasm and participation of students, family members, and local businesses. Our

top fundraiser this year was Master Mike Black who raised $1085. In addition to donations that he personally collected he also raised funds with Lucky charms. The St. Baldrick’s Lucky charms are round discs of paper with the St. Baldrick’s symbol. People donate money, then sign or put a message on the lucky charm. Master Black’s goal was to cover an entire wall of his office with the lucky charms signed by his coworkers. Clipper Magazine, where Master Black works, generously matched the donations that he personally collected and through the Gannett Foundation donated $300 to our event. Steve Dailey, E Dan, was our second highest fundraiser. He and his coworkers at Computer Aid Incorporated donated a total of $930. One of our Cho Dans, Don Sheaffer, asked his employer to donate to our event. Dutchland Incorporated generously donated $500. The store Five Below assisted us in fund raising by holding a weeklong event in which 10% of the total purchase from anyone presenting one of our coupons was donated to St. Baldrick’s. Bethlehem Martial Arts graciously collected money from their students and donated it to our event. Many students from other karate studios were also kind enough to make personal donations. We are very grateful for the generosity of everyone who assisted us in reaching our goal. To the many children fighting cancer you are all heroes.

Region 5 “Pulls” Together For Charities

It started out as a small idea and it just grew. One day while at work, I saw a little cardboard house for collecting pull tabs for the Ronald McDonald House Charities,

(RMHC). RMHC is mostly known for providing a “home away from home” where families can get a good night’s rest while their child is in one of their partnering hospitals. For those who need longer care, they all can stay at the house together. The Houses are located close to the hospitals, keeping the families close by and providing the opportunity for them to connect with other families dealing with similar experiences. They’ve built sports centers for disabled children, sensory rooms for children with cognitive and physical disabilities and developed other innovative ways to help change children’s lives. There is also a Ronald McDonald Care Mobile. Services are provided in a 40-foot long, 8-foot wide, state-of-the-art vehicle built specifically for delivering pediatric health care services. Each year, RMHC also awards scholarships to extraordinary area high school seniors who are committed to pursuing post-secondary education. I had been saving pull tabs at home and received permission at work to turn in my collection through them. This started the whole ball rolling. I figured that if I had pull tabs, others from my karate school did too. I asked if I was able to get collections approved at my karate school, Eagle Academy, and turn in the pull tabs through work. Not only did they think it was a good idea, they agreed to get some of the collection houses for me. I thought that it would be a great way to support a charity at our karate school. I spoke with Master Jansa and Master Treacy to see if they would give me permission to collect pull tabs through the school. Though we already had a few community service events going on, they both thought it was a good idea. I provided flyers and information to the students and everyone seemed to be excited about it. This was just before Thanksgiving in 2011. I knew that I was on to something when Donna, one of the Cho Dan’s

came into the school with a large zip lock baggie full of pull tabs. The little houses were nice, but would not even hold what I had already saved. I decided to clean and save gallon milk bottles. My goal was to fill 5 gallon milk containers with pull tabs. Not only did we exceed the 5 container mark, it soon became a challenge to have enough milk bottles. During one of our school events, and talking to the instructors at other locations, they said that they would also help. I asked Master Anderson, our Regional Director, if I could get the whole region involved. Even though the word did not get to all of the schools in Region 5 until around January of 2012, every school participated. I made up a flyer to post on our website, sent out regular announcements

and we frequently announced it in class. For those who said that they did not drink pop, I reminded them that they can ask friends, family and neighbors. Not only did they reach the 5 container goal, they very quickly surpassed it. On April 21st, at the Regional Championship, Region 5 turned in all of the pull tabs that they had collected for the Ronald

McDonald House Charities. The pull tabs were presented to Doug Porter, the CEO of the RMHC of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana. Approximately 80 gallons of pull tabs were turned in with about 65 gallons being turned in from just one school! This translates to 120 pounds of pull tabs. I then gave Region 5 a challenge to exceed what they collect this year to turn in next year. I have already set 2 goals for the next tournament which will be in Oct. 2013. One is to see if a school can top the school that turned in the most this year and the second is as a Region, top our total turn-in of 120 pounds and try to collect at least 200 pounds. Currently we have 23 gallons. It will be exciting to see how this can grow; there are Ronald McDonald House Charities all over the world.

JOIN OUR $1,000 DONOR’S CLUB!In January of 2005, the WTSDF Construction Committee began selling 1000 pillars. So far we have 265 pillars sold and 735 left to sell. Market trends for purchasing and building new properties has risen astronomically over the past few years and our original budget for construction, which was set in 1993, does not match the reality of actual costs in 2012. In order to accelerate our fund raising, we established the $1,000 Donors Club. Anyone who wishes to join this effort should contact Headquarters or their local Building Fund Chair Person for the pledge form.

Those who wish to purchase a pillar may pay in installments. If anyone has already donated a significant amount less than $1,000 and would like that money applied towards a pillar, contact Headquarters with your donor #’s and dates and it can be applied to the pledge form. Keep in mind that the pillars are for individual contributions, not regional or studio contributions. We appreciate all of those who have joined in our efforts to date and will commemorate them with pillars in the new building.
