During the BOD meeting on August 11, the KDVA appointed General Vincent Brooks (whose given Korean name is General Park Yoo-jong), former commander of the Combined Forces Command, as the new President and Chairman of the KDVA. Brooks’ term will begin on October 1.KUSAF will hold a video conference with General Brookson Sept. 22 to discuss future KUSAF-KDVA programs and ways to cooperate to strengthen the Alliance. General Sharp has pledged to continue supporting KDVA and theROK-U.S. Alliance. As of October, General Sharp will take office as the Chairman of the MOAA, which has 350,000 members in the U.S.A.
KUSAF- ReligiousLeadersMeeting
On August 25, KUSAF invited Pastor Kim Guk-do (Immanuel Church), Pastor Kim Sam-hwan (Myungsung Church), Pastor Kim Jang-hwan (Far East Broadcasting Chairman), Pastor Oh Jung-hyun (SaRang Church), Pastor LeeYoung-hoon (Yoido Full Gospel Church), and ChairmanLee Seung-hoon to discuss ways to strengthen the Korea-U.S. Alliance between KUSAF and Protestant Church Leaders. Participants agreed on the importance of the Korea-U.S. Alliance and promised to support the Foundation.At this meeting, Pastor Kim Jang-hwan donated 50 million won to promote the Alliance. In the future, the Foundation decided to expand cooperation with each church for the Korea-U.S. Alliance.

On August 12, KUSAF supported the 2020 Annual Meeting of Undergraduate Studies for Peace and Security in Korea (U-SPECK), which consists of students from the Korea Military Academy, Sookmyung Women's University and Korea University. The president of the KUSAF gave acongratulatory speech and presented a KUSAF certificateto the excellent members who completed the course. U-SPECK will hold a seminar in early November to discusssecurity and peace on the Korean Peninsula including the value and importance of the Korea-U.S. Alliance.

The$200,000donatedbyHanwhaGroupisdeliveredtotheKoreaDefenseVeteransAssociation(KDVA)andwillbeusedtostrengthenthevoiceoftheAllianceinWashingtonDCandtosupportourVeterans.KDVAishostingvariouswebinarsrelatedtotheAlliance.
On August 13, KDVA hosted a webinar on the importance of ROK-US combined exercises with the former EighthArmy commander General Champoux as the moderator.General Valcourt, former commander of the Eighth Army,participated in the webinar as the guest speaker and emphasized the significance and effect of the ROK-US combined exercises, and the impact of the exercises on the defense posture of the Korean Peninsula.

TheSecretary-GeneralofKUSAFparticipatedinaseminarheldbyCIASonAugust24andpresentedtheUSExtendedDeterrencePolicyandsuggestedthedirectionofdevelopment.
ParticipationinaseminarrelatedtotheAlliance
KUSAF visited the National Assembly and had office calls with Defense Committee members, Chairman Min Hong-chul, Rep. Han Ki-ho and Rep. Shin Won-sik on August 3 and 21. KUSAF introduced its efforts to promote theKorea-U.S. Alliance and asked for their support. The National Assembly members promised to support the Foundation's activities for the Korea-U.S. Alliance.
