The house style used for this billboard is very simple and only uses two colours brown and white. The use of only two colours emphasises that this newspaper is a formal newspaper and not a tabloid. The colours brown and white are boring plain colours and this represents the type of newspaper as it isn’t a tabloid but a more formal and informative newspaper. Also the target audience is older educated people and therefore a bright colour like pink wouldn’t attract them but brown and white would.

The image used is white and in the shape of a person reading the newspaper, this image is simple and allows the audience to recognise the billboard is advertising a newspaper.

Typeface

The text used on this billboard is formal as it uses capital letters and lower case letters correctly, this is because the newspaper is a more informative newspaper and not a tabloid. The text is in white and therefore stands out against the dull brown background and the audience can read it clearly as the text takes up most of the billboard.
