Howard Law has been with unifor since 1997 and was named Director, Media Sector, in October 2013. In this role, Howard is

Lise Maclean has over 14 years of experience as the senior human resources advisor/manager/director in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors, managing HR operations, as well as the strategic HR function, in organizations of over 400 people. Lise Maclean has overseen major organizational changes, implemented new compensation plans and performance management systems within organizations.

Lise will be leading ‘10 Hot Points in Human Resources’ on Friday afternoon.

SANDY MACLEOD

Chief Operating Officer, Print, Star Media Group

Sandy MacLeod is Chief Operating Officer of Print for Star Media Group, which includes

the Toronto Star and the Metro chain of English-language newspapers in Canada. During his 20-plus years in the industry, Sandy has worked for many of Canada’s largest publishers, including Thomson, Southam, Hollinger, Sun Media and Torstar. Sandy has held senior positions in Circulation, Human Resources, Production, Marketing and Strategy.

Don McCurdy is the executive director of the Ontario Press Council, selected in the fall of 2010 following an extensive career

as a journalist and distinguished work as a volunteer in journalistic activities. He is the former executive editor and managing editor of the daily Waterloo Region Record, where he worked for 35 years. He is also a former editor of community newspapers in Waterloo and Guelph, and a reporter-photographer in Cambridge and Bradford.
