DRIVING SAFETY THROUGH TECHNOLOGY

Lock OutTag Out within BIM We developed a program within BIM in a Box that leverages a custom lock outtag out program We apply this program from commissioning and startups to maintenance and beyond This leading edge use of BIM is revolutionary for safety on job sites and was created in-house by our virtual design and construction team to help us increase visibility of hazards in the field

BIM with Trimble Technology When our teams use BIM more often than not itrsquos the layers of complex detail curated from our Robotic Total Stations (RTS) and 3D scanners that reduces risk for our teams For example imagine a 100 hour job that traditionally requires 80 of that time elevated on a ladder for a total of 80 elevated hours Now imagine after using BIM with RTS the job is now a 30 hour job with less than 50 of the tasks at an elevated height This takes that task from 80 hours of elevated time to a meager 15 hours Not only is this a SAFER scenario but it reduces labor onsite while enhancing primary time

Applying Preconstruction and Excellerate With a sizable investment of time money and resources the Preconstruction and Excellerate teams are working diligently with engineering to plan and detail each project plan for efficiency cost savings and most importantly safety

Our philosophy to begin with a comprehensively ldquosaferdquo design means we ensure every task is safe by applying our ladder-last policy eliminating hot work and exposure to hot work and reducing exposure to cuts sprains and strains We then leverage Excelleratersquos capabilities identifying opportunities to build in a controlled environment for safer construction

Safety First MindsetWe know when we approach everything we do proactively and with a safety first mindset we see immediate returns in both safety and safety awareness because we are able to focus on lead indicators versus lag measures These include

Hiring We involve a safety manager in the interview process whenever possible and ask open-ended safety-related questions to help in determining the candidatersquos safety acumen We believe this sends the right first impression to candidates on Faithrsquos position and priority as it pertains to safety

Design Safety is heavily involved throughout the various phases of the design process to ensure a safe design both in the constructability and throughout the life of the building

Manufacturing Our manufacturing efforts are integral to our design process Manufacturing and design work closely to ensure as much of the project is built in a controlled environment and on the ground This team also works to minimize any material going to the job to reduce unsafe jobsite clutter and maximize primary time productivity

Safety Communication amp TrainingFaith recognizes the importance of instilling safety on Day 1 so we work hard to ensure all new employees receive the tools they need to succeed and begin acclimating them to our safety culture As part of our continuous improvement efforts for safety we focus on the following major tactics

Onboarding On their first day employees participate in an eight-hour safety onboarding before ever reporting to a jobsite

Short Service Employee Program (SSE) We match each new employee with a mentor for the first six months of employment to train onboard and teach Faithrsquos culture of safety While in the SSE program new employees wear a blue hard hat to ensure the safety of the individual and the jobsite as a whole

Continuous Training We provide all of our employees with continuous training through our annual training programs hosted around the country Knowing that safety and safety training is central to our culture we arrange travel and hotel accommodations provide a full week of safety and other necessary training led by our team of degreed and credentialed professionals

Daily Communication We realize onboarding and training alone canrsquot be enough which is why we continue to leverage technology through our electronic daily safety bulletin This communication provides daily safety updates shares information such as near misses and incident recaps for cross company learnings and offers recognition to project crews and leadership for keeping safety first

Monthly Meetings We request that all employees take 30 minutes each month to join our leadership team on a company-wide web conference to hear safety and other state of the business updates as well as to ask questions of our leadership team

Is Faith Technologies just chasing the numbers This question has come up on several occasions over the last few weeks The answer is an emphatic NO

We have steadily improved Faithrsquos safety statistics over the last three years by taking care of our employees We encourage employees to report all incidents - whether an injury occurred or not These reports allow us to identify patterns and implement tools tips etc to mitigate them (eg glove requirements)

Late reporting is one of the more common patterns wersquove seen so over the past few months we have increased our focus on late incident reporting to better understand the causes While some are due in part to adjusting to change most are a result of unclear expectations or a lack of understanding of the reporting process - including the fear of repercussion for reporting and assumptions that incident reporting is only required when an injury occurs

INCIDENT REPORTING WHO WHEN WHY

Timely reporting helps the company better understand the incident so we can ensure employees receive proper care in a timely manner The following questions address some of the common misconceptions and highlight key points to Faithrsquos incident reporting process

When incidents are managed properly we can often avoid situations where employees are off work and receiving workerrsquos compensation benefits that are much less than full wages If we can provide voluntary light duty or restricted duty the employee receives full compensation Studies show that when employees work under a light duty program they recover from their injuries much more quickly than when they are at home Faith also benefits from the light duty program in that the employee is still providing value to the company through hisher efforts

We sometimes lose sight of the fact that safety numbers are NOT the driving factor for incident reporting Many companies prefer their employees not report minor injuries Faithrsquos primary goal is to ensure the safety and health of our employees The numbers are important for reasons that are discussed very often but they are NOT what drives our desire for communication

We need your help Help us find ways to help all employees develop a mindset that removes doubt about whether an incident or injury should be reported immediately

Faith Technologies is leveraging our Preconstruction and Excellerate groups who have provided many innovative and technology-based solutions Our preconstruction team provided a fully integrated BIM model which included structural and all MEP trades This model was utilized for coordination and layout - both in the form of detailed installation drawings as well as the assignment of Trimble Points to use in layout with Trimble Robotic Total Station in the field - greatly improving efficiency and accuracy

Additionally information from the model was extracted into detailed fabrication drawings and utilized for all types of prefabrication and manufacturing such as branch panels wall boxes ldquocentipederdquo boxes for casino floors and overhead lighting

We currently have 53 team members working on site and throughout the past two years the project team has experienced zero recordable injuries with over 70000 man hours worked

3

S A F E T Y F I R S T

Who should report an incident Any employee who is injured involved in an incident which could cause injury or damage to property andor equipment

To whom should they report an incident Incidents and injuries should be reported to the immediate supervisor jobsite supervisor AND your safety manager

When should this be reported ALL incidents should be reported immediately

Why is this importantbull To enable the safety department to analyze the situation and

manage the incident effectivelybull To ensure the employee receives the appropriate care ndash even

when they donrsquot think it is a serious issuebull To protect the worker - if an incident is documented at the time

it occurred the employee is protected if the injury becomes aggravated over time Late reporting can sometimes lead to refusal of coverage by our insurance company

Q DO EMPLOYEES WHO DO NOT PARTICIPATE IN THE COMPANYrsquoS HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN RECEIVE AN INCENTIVE

A We utilize a variety of resources to determine market pay including but not limited to surveys from third-party compensation vendors For field wages we look at surveys specialized for the construction industry and electrical workers when applicable We look at data provided through various union publications and we utilize a market-driven database (CompAnalyst owned by Salarycom) that is validated survey data Further we look beyond base wages at total compensation to include benefits incentives and other forms of compensation
