HOP SKIP AND A JUMP
INTO OUR BUSY TERM!!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped raise lots of money for children in need this year. We all dressed in
our cosy pyjamas and onesies for the occasion which was great fun! Even the teachers joined in! In total we
raised an amazing £350, a massive well done!
A huge thank you to those parents who attended our parent sessions at the start of the term.
Parent feedback regarding the sessions was very positive. The “taster meals” provided for by
School Cook, Helen, were very successful. Lots of parents were requesting “seconds please!”
Election Time
On Monday 8th September we held our annual Elections at school. A huge congratulations to
those pupils who were elected as School and Eco Councillors, Sports and House Captains. We
know you will do a wonderful job representing the school this year. Look out for their
professional photographs displayed in the foyer! Well done to all Year 6 Prefects this year.
Full list of all councils are available to view on the school website.
Tennis
Thanks once again to the Wrexham Tennis
Centre for enabling the children to access
professional coaching for our pupils in the
Junior department. This term Year 3 pupils
and 3/4 pupils have visited the centre on a
weekly basis.
Swimming sessions will be continuing once again this year.
This term Year 6 and 5/6 have visited Wrexham
Waterworld and have greatly benefited
from the small group coaching
which the centre has
provided.
They have behaved impec-
cably during their visits to the
Wrexham Swimming Centre. Well done!
We look forward to the Wrexham Swimming Tournament
later on in the year.
The Mac Millan Coffee Morning held at the
school this month was a huge success.
Thanks to your
support we raised a
staggering £506 in
a few hours.
We were
over-whelmed
by your support
and generosity!
Don’t forget to view some of the photo-
graphs on the school council gallery page.
Fire Safety Talk
Thanks to the support of the North Wales
Fire Service, the pupils in Year Two and
Year five received a refresher course on

their list for discussion was
the purchase of a friend-

friendship stop has come
true. We thank the
community members for
their kindness.
A group of pupils from Year Five and Year Six repre-
sented the school in the Indoor Athletics Festival
which was held at Brymbo Enterprise Centre. The team
competed against thirteen schools across the Wrexham
Authority, and we were very proud to hear the team
had achieved fourth position.
As their topic this term is „Romans‟, year 3 and 4 visited
the Dewa Roman experience Chester to discover what
Roman life was like.
The Roman workshops provided the opportunity to
ask a variety of questions to Roman historians rang-
ing from: What did Romans eat? Was the armour
heavy? How long did they have to march each day?
Lower Key Stage 2 had a fantastic time learning
about: Roman army formations, Roman armour, Roman
entertainment, Roman artifacts that have been dug up in
and around Chester, and comparing and contrasting
Roman life to life today.
School and Eco Council had the opportunity of meeting some of our School Governors this month. They shared their roles with the Gover-nors and their plans for the year ahead. Thank you to all the Gover-
