Marcia Update: Marcia’s surgery on her foot went well and she is expected to be released from hospital today. While she is non weight bearing for two weeks, she is in good spirits and looking forward to returning to school.

5/6W Circuit displays: The year 5/6W students have been working hard on their electric circuit dis-plays for the last three weeks. All the students work is on display until next Fri-day in the entry way in the office at school. Any parents who would like to come and have a look at what the students created are more than welcome.

Are you a person who understands equality and equity? Have a look at the photo below...in order to treat people equally, we would all be given the same size box to stand on to improve our lines of sight. However, doing so wouldn’t necessarily help the shortest person see as well as the tall-est person. In education, in order to give equitable treatment, each person needs to be given a box to stand on to enable a clear view over the fence. Our school actively promotes this approach with its students, staff and community. The benefits of an equity focus versus an equality focus in our support for stu-dent learning and well-being are clear. It is part of how we look after each and every child at our school.

McEwan Reserve Tennis Club Junior Scholarship: On behalf of Ben Ladson’s donation, McEwan Reserve Tennis Club is offering tennis scholarships to a boy and a girl (10-17 yo) as of 31st August 2018. To apply contact the school for an application form.
