Directions to Pollo Rico Latin Bistro
Pollo Rico is located at 2435 Middle Country Road (Rte. 25), Centereach. Probably the simplest way to get
there from the LIE is to take Exit 62 (Nicolls Road) and go north on CR 97 (towards Stony Brook).
Continue north for about 3 miles then take the exit to Rte. 25. At the traffic signals at the end of the ramp
go left and head west (Smithtown). The restaurant will appear after about 1.5 miles, on the right side of the
highway. Their telephone number is 631-471-0585. Their website is: http://www.polloricolatinbistro.com/

Our Speaker
Daniel Migliorino is a graduate from the Department of Engineering Science at Stony
Brook University, specializing in Materials Engineering. Since graduating with a Bachelor of
Engineering in 2012 he has been employed at Long Island Testing Labs and is currently working
at Reliacoat Technologies. His employment at Reliacoat mainly consists of building and assisting
the development of the various sensors they offer for the thermal spray industry. Along with his
assembly work, he has spent several years developing an Infrared thermography non-destructive
evaluation (NDE) system for use inspecting thermally sprayed coatings.
The Topic
Thermal Spray technology has been used for decades to create engineered coatings for
many industrial applications. A few of these applications are thermal barriers for combustion
engines and turbines, adding corrosion and wear resistance, restoration of deteriorated or worn
equipment and application of non-skid surfaces. Where there are materials, there is a need for
inspection techniques to assure their quality in application and throughout their lifetime. Some
traditional techniques can be used such as radiology and dye penetrant, but more advanced
techniques are needed to determine hidden voids and to deal with the complex structure of a
thermal sprayed coating. This talk will show an overview of one such technique: Flash Infrared
Thermography, a non-contact NDE technique that can allow the operator to visualize and infer the
properties and possible defects through the coating thickness.
The LIASM Executive Committee appreciates the support received from all our advertisers. Let's make every effort to direct our business to them, if at all possible.
