HAPPY FATHER’S DAY! We wish all our dad’s a restful and enjoyable Father’s Day! On behalf of all of us here at St. Teresa of Calcutta – Happy Father’s Day!
What Makes a Dad God took the strength of a mountain,
The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun,
The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagle’s flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed,
The patience of eternity, the depth of a family need, Then God combined these qualities
When there was nothing more to add, He knew His masterpiece
Was complete, And so, He called it …Dad

NOW DUE - ONLINE TRANSPORTATION REGISTRATION
In order to have a bus stop in September, it is essential that families register online. 2020-2021 Kindergarten and “New Next Year” Grade 1 to 6 students must call the school to apply using a hard copy form. (See attachment below for registration instructions.) Transportation staff use registration numbers to plan for how many buses are needed for September. If parents don’t register, there will not be a bus stop planned within walking distance to and from home for their child. Parents can register now and cancel during September with no penalty. Payment is not required until October.
The following are LINKS to 2020-21 Online Transportation Registration information:
• Parent and Guardian information letter regarding transportation: Parent Info. Letter
• 2020-21 ONLINE Transportation Registration Instructions: 2020-21 ONLINE Transportation
Registration
You can fill out and sign the following Form 560-1 and submit it to the school via e-mail ([email protected])
and we will forward it to the Transportation Department for you: Charter Transportation Registration FORM
for 2020-21
Updated Yellow Bus Routes for 2020-21 will be posted on the district website by mid-August. Go to: www.cssd.ab.ca/parents/transportation/schedulesroutes. Just click on the school name, and ALL routes for that school are contained in the PDF document. Scroll down to see ALL ROUTES.
Parents must frequently check the site for updates, especially before school starts. After school starts, Transportation staff e-mail route updates to the schools to copy and hand out to the students riding the particular bus route.
2020-21 Registration If you have not already done so, in order for us to plan school enrollments for the upcoming school year, we ask that you let us know if your child(ren) will not be attending St. Teresa of Calcutta for the 2020-2021 school year. This allows us to accurately plan for staffing allocations.

SCHOOL FEE REFUNDS Thank you to all our families for your patience and understanding as we have navigated through the fee refund process. This was truly an unprecedented and momentous task for our district. In the last month and a half, 36,000 student’s fees were adjusted and 6,300 credit card refunds were processed. It may take up to 10 business days for families to see refunds on their credit cards. The district is now ready to process the remaining refunds that are greater than $100 for cash/cheque payments, debit cards, etc. These will have to be paid to families via cheque. We ask all families with outstanding student fees or transportation fees, to go into their student fee accounts, and if able, make a payment on their outstanding fee balances. Parents can access payment by visiting the district website at http://www.cssd.ab.ca -> Click on: Parents - School Fees - Online Fee Payment/Form Submission – Pay Now/Form Submission We thank everyone for their support during this process.
2019-2020 YEARBOOKS If parents have not already done so, yearbooks are still able to order through Lifetouch on Ybpay.lifetouch.com/Order/SelectJob -> Yearbook ID: 10143020 For families wishing to pay using Debit, the district has reopened the fee payment link on the school and district websites. Thank you for the submissions so far. We continue to request photos from families of what learning activities students are participating in during their time away from school to be included in our yearbook. Photos can be emailed to: [email protected]

Guardian Tip Sheet for Learning at Home Learning will look different than in the classroom
● Teachers will create online content, however, guidance will be necessary. ● Guardians are not expected to replace the role of the teacher; they are asked to simply assist
children in accessing content online. ● Guardians should not expect to follow a regular school schedule and may wish to refer to the
following sample schedules: K-2 Schedule Example, 3-6 Schedule Example, 7-9 Schedule Example, 10-12 Schedule Example (these are exemplars; times and activities are flexible).
Here are some pointers to help you be successful learning at home
● Set a schedule. Keep children on their regular sleeping schedules (see above for sample schedules).
● Add breaks to the day: lunch, snacks, physical activities, playtime. ● Use mixed media: limit screen time by adding breaks, reading books, cooking together, playing
a board game, or writing. ● Video chats are a great way to stay connected to friends and family. ● Keep contacting your child’s teacher for guidance with home learning.
Guardian Communication and How-to Guides
● Guardians who are not familiar with Google Classroom may wish to watch this video: How-to
Open & Navigate Google Classroom.
● Guardians who are not familiar with Brightspace/D2L (for Grades 7-12 only) can watch the
following video and view the Brightspace Pamphlet for Guardians.
● Support for accessing your LEARN (Google) account and Read & Write at home.
