Yet Another Starting Line When we wrote our newsletter in August last year, entitled “The Last Lap,” we were preparing to retreat into our “writing holes” to complete our first drafts. We are truly thankful to God for enabling us to complete our first drafts as planned. However, what we thought would be the last lap of our dissertation writing was merely the last lap of the first long- distance race. After receiving feedback regarding our drafts, we now realise that there is a second race to run. We must admit that we are still trying to recover from the first race, but the start gun for the second race has sounded and the race has begun. We hope that the second race will be a 200-metre dash and not another marathon. We appreciate your prayers as we work on our revisions. Casey returned to full-time work in January. He now serves as the Academic Dean in the Assemblies of God Bible College. What brings him great joy is the ability to spend more time with the students both inside and outside the classroom. Davina had the opportunity to share the findings of her research to two different groups—students in a post-graduate class, and the faculty and staff of a Bible college in a workshop. Being able to share what she has been working on for the past five years somehow made all the hard work worthwhile. She also participated in Casey’s recent class on Corinthians and taught topics that are of great interest to her. Teaching is her passion and her joy. Teaching what interests her makes it a double joy. We pray that the Lord will continue to anoint us as we serve him in the teaching ministry, and grant us the strength and ability to finish our second race. Yet Another Starting Line

When we wrote our newsletter in August last year, entitled “The Last Lap,” we were preparing to retreat into our “writing holes” to complete our first drafts. We are truly thankful to God for enabling us to complete our first drafts as planned. However, what we thought would be the last lap of our dissertation writing was merely the last lap of the first long-distance race.
