MIAMI, FL. (March 15, 2013) -‐ The fresh start to the new season, NGT Motorsport came out to the 2013 12H of Sebring weekend and showed the competition that they are ready for battle. The weekend was full of success. Tending to no less than seven IMSA GT3 Cup cars and two ALMS GTC Porsches, NGT Motorsport had a full plate on their hands.
The weekend started off with the 2013 IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge Series. The #25 NGT Porsche, driven by Angel Benitez Jr. had a strong weekend, qualifying 1st and winning both races in dominating fashion. Angel was able to control the entire field while gaining maximum points towards the championship.
Teammate #27 Craig Duerson, who is driving in the Platinum Master’s class achieved identical results by qualifying 1st and winning both races too. Duerson has showed a lot of pace throughout testing and has a good chance to be at the top of the standings in the overall classification.
Amadeo Quiros, who drives the #28 NGT Porsche, started down in the field and passed a total of 11 cars to finish on the podium in the first race and securing another podium position in the second race.
Showing some early pace was #29 Eduardo Cisneros by qualifying 8th in the first race and was quick throughout the weekend. During the second race Eduardo got a drive thru penalty and yet, he was poised and impressive by passing more than 10 cars. He will be a strong contender throughout the year.
Other strong showings came from Carlos Gomez in the #26 NGT Porsche. Gomez finished in the top 10.
First timers, #23 Ary Krau and teammate #24 Mark Llano, gained a lot of experience in the very challenging IMSA GT3 Cup series. Both Ary and Mark are looking forward to the remaining season.
