FFP3 Respirator (FFP3)
Fluid resistant surgical face mask (FRSM)
Long sleeved fluid repellent gown
Clinical examination gloves
Face Visor/Eye protection
Plastic apron
SESSIONAL USE -ITU & THEATRES ONLY.
Single use for AGP procedures all other settings
Can be worn continuously for up to 8 hrs
If use discontinued for any reason – discard and select new FFP3
Remove if wet/grossly contaminated
Remove during doffing AFTER leaving ITU
SESSIONAL USE- ALL AREAS Non clinical staff – wear for
up to in a single ward/clinical environment – up to 4 hours
Remove if wet/grossly contaminated
Remove before leaving ward/department areas unless during patient transport activity
Must not be taken off/reapplied
Can wear continuously for the following tasks: a) Medicine roundsb) Ward roundsc) Obs/care roundingd) Meal servicee) Routine/domestic
cleaning change mask with apron &
gloves following direct patient care/significant contact (e.g. bed bath, interventional or surgical procedure)
SESSIONAL USE – ITU ONLY Continuous use until
leaving area or removing
Wear apron over top of gown- change apron between patients & after dirty tasks
Remove before comfort breaks
Remove if wet/grossly contaminated
Remove during doffing prior to leaving ITU
SINGLE USE – ALL AREAS
change between each patient
change between clean and dirty tasks
remove before leaving ward/department unless during patient transport activity
SESSIONAL USE – ALL AREAS
Dispose of as single use after use
Decontaminate reusable visors following SOP
