The Opportunity for SWI • Around 7m homes with solid walls
• 45% of heat lost through solid walls
• 2.3m by 2022 to hit Climate Change Targets
• Major increase in industry capacity (GD/PAS 2030
accredited!)
• Key area of focus in the Green Deal and ECO
• Social housing will play a key role in the early stages but 1
offs will become increasingly important and require a different
approach
• Increasing importance of quality/standards and consumer
protection

External Wall Insulation• Can be applied to many Non Traditional property types
• Variety of insulation types available
– Mineral wool, EPS, PIR, Cork
• Wide range of finishes available
– Renders, Acrylics, Brick Slips
• Improves appearance as well as thermal performance
• DCLG – January 2013
