A disgrace to the society, a reproach to its officers, and a fit subject for discussion among unbeliever*. He bad tbe wound dressed by Dr. Smith, nnd then returned witb his hired man aud Khot the dog. Two men call on a farmer representing themselves as photographers. They agree to furnish tbe farmer witb a photograph of bis bouse for fifty cents. The farmer signs an agreement to receive the photograph at tbe price named, which agreement turns up in good time as a pro- inlsory note for a goodly sum. It is a very •* fresh farmer ” indeed that will be caught by such a trick. —Our village was well patronised by bi cycles from Niagara Falls last Sunday, there being no less than ten in the town at once. The party nlso bad with them a Tandem Tricycle, or more appropriately named Quadrlcycle, propelled hy two men, and proved quite an eye-opener to the uninitia ted. It was a mi del of perfection and beau ty to say the least. They returned by way of steamer Haselton on ber excursion trip to Lewiston in tbe afternoon. Youngstown is getting to be a famous resort for comers on two wheeled vehicles. —A queer phenomenon was witnessed in the heavens last Friday night by star-gaxers wbo were on tbe look out. It consisted of a long stretch of clouds extending in a curved line from Northeast to Southwest us far as the eye could penetrate, and form ing » hut appeared to be mountain rauges, Tbe outline of the peaks could plainly bo distinguished, and tbo ascending aud de scending valleys between the mountain ran ges were clear ly visible to the naked eye. It was a seuiio at once majestic and awe-inspir ing, and those who missed tbe sight of it lost a rare treat. PERSONAL, Le Roy Salt.
