Strategic Jobs and Investment Fund (SJIF)SJIF should be of interest to innovative companies that make anchor investments in Ontario that support cluster development and leading-edge initiatives that build long-term prosperity and global competitiveness. Minimum threshold of $10M of eligible costs or 50 new high-value jobs.

Scientific Research and Experimental Development Tax Incentive Program Description: The largest single source of federal support for industrial R & D. Investment tax credits for expenditures such as wages, materials, machinery, equipment, some overhead, and SR & ED contracts.

Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund - Ontario Capital Growth CorporationDescription: Up to $5 million initial investment to leverage private sector capital in clean technology, life sciences and advanced health technologies, digital media and information and communications technology sectors. Program will make a direct co-investment into a successful company alongside the qualified investor.

Prosperity InitiativeThe Prosperity Initiative encourages businesses, not-for-profit organizations and post-secondary institutions in southern Ontario to undertake projects that will result in a more productive, diversified and competitive economy in the region. Funding is available for projects that enhance productivity, diversify the regional economy, and build a competitive advantage for southernOntario. A total of $210 Million has been allocated to this program from 2010 to 2014.

Sustainable Development Technology Fund

SDTC supports clean-technology projects without taking an equity stake or requiring ownership of intellectual property or any repayment of funds. SDTC supports only those technologies that have demonstrated their potential to meet market demand and help achieve Canada’s environmental goals for reducing the effects of climate change and improving air, soil and water quality.

Apprenticeship Training Tax Credit - OntarioDescription: A 25 percent provincial refundable tax credit on salaries and wages paid to new apprentices in certain skilled trades to help offset employers' costs. Small businesses receive a 30 percent tax credit.
