There is a ridiculous amount of information out there about niche sites.

A lot of it is really old and out of date. In the next few pages I will present you with my exact Niche Site Process.

This will provide some context about the task list.

The ProcessThis is the same process that Pat Flynn & Spencer Haws use to build out their niche sites, like Security Guard Train-ing HQ and The Best Survival Knife Guide. It works for Ad-sense, Amazon, or other affiliate based niche sites.

It’s the same process that countless other niche site own-ers have used, too.

The process works for a niche site on two-way radios or puppy collars or blenders and anything in between.

It even works to start an authority site - since a niche site should be the testing grounds for an authority site.

The process works because it follows a precise set of phases that you execute in a specific order.

I removed ineffective steps. If there is no ROI on a task, then we don’t do it.

Read this page carefully. Read it multiple times and commit it to memory.

Print out the PDF and study it. Post it next to your desk. If you plan on building out a niche website then you’ll be refer-encing the NSP often.

When you learn new concepts and tactics, like keyword re-search & outsourcing, you’ll need to remind yourself where you are in the NSP. Otherwise, you could be wasting money and, more importantly, wasting your time.

A word of caution: There isn't much value in understanding how to do keyword (KW) research and competition analysis alone.

There is enormous value (and profit) in understanding how to use these niche selection strategies within the overall Niche Site Process.

That applies to anything in the NSP - You must understand where a step fits within the process, not just how to do it.

To keep the topic focused, we’re mainly considering niche site monetized using the Amazon Associate, the affiliate pro-gram for Amazon.

PLANNING (PLN):

• Decide if you will do all the keyword research, partially or completely

• Decide if you will write the content, partially or completely

• Decide if you will outsource any link building

• Decide if you want to keep your links pure and clean

KEYWORD AND PRODUCT RESEARCH (KWR):

• Brainstorm and idea generation

• Review Amazon product categories to get ideas

• Use Long Tail Pro or Google Keyword Planner to analyze search volume for potential primary keywords

• Use Long Tail Pro or Google Keyword Planner to analyze related keywords and secondary keywords

• Select keyword(s) to research further for Front Page Com-petition

FIRST PAGE COMPETITION ANALYSIS (FPC):

• Use Long Tail Pro to analyze keyword competitiveness

• Perform Google search on keywords

- Check for keywords in page titles and meta descriptions

- Check for other niche sites

- Check for forum posts

- Check for Q & A sites

• Set up free accounts with Majestic SEO, ahrefs, and MOZ

• Install the MOZ toolbar

• Review the Page Authority and Domain Authority values from the MOZ toolbar

• Check the first 5-10 pages of search results for Niche Sites

• Select your keyword or topic

SELECTING A DOMAIN AND HOSTING (DH):

• Select and purchase a domain using the selected key-words

• Set up hosting at Bluehost (or other hosting company)

• Install WordPress (use one click install)

• Install plugins

• Select & Install a theme

• Create a custom header

• Set up Google webmaster tools

• Set up Google Analytics

• Set up Google Authorship (can use a pseudonym)

• Create About Page

• Create Contact Page

• Create Privacy Policy

• Create Disclaimer

CONTENT CREATION (CC):

• Write the main post (2000+ words) and publish.

• Write 5 additional posts that can be product reviews or re-lated topics and publish.

• Write 5 more posts/product reviews and publish (in a week)

• Add links from Amazon to your main page

• Add links from Amazon to your other pages

• Audit to make you sure all your links work correctly

PROMOTION: OUTREACH, AND LINK BUILDING (LB):

• Create list of relevant blogs for link building (goal ~200 blogs)

• Comment on 1/4 of blog list (in a week)

• Comment on 1/4 of blog list (in a week)

• Comment on 1/4 of blog list (in a week)

• Comment on 1/4 of blog list (in a week)

• Create social profiles

• Write 4 unique articles and submit one each to 4 article di-rectories
