For Nick Chang, a Mortgage Loan Officer and Consultant with ACG Funding’s branch office in City of Industry, California, the home loan industry is all about client service and building client relationships. “Don’t worry about the money,” he insists. “The money will come.” This business philosophy draws from Nick’s under standing that, in a fairly competitive industry, focusing on the needs and goals of clients and REALTORS ® must be the motivating factor for success. That’s why he focuses on being honest, giving personalized attention and checking every detail of the loan transaction versus concentrating primarily on the business itself. Nick says, “I want everything to be ready before I direct a client file on through the mortgage process.” To that end, he tries to connect with each client in person, to build a longterm relationship; and he also reaches out to REALTORS ® , who say they appreciate his keen attention to detail. He plays the role of mortgage adviser on both personal financial and investment planning in real estate. That attention to detail and relationshipbuilding are actually highly valued for the special demographic ACG Funding markets to, which is the Asian American communities in Southern California. Specific areas include the San Gabriel Valley, Riverside County, all of San Diego, and occasionally in Northern California. The company’s main office is in Arcadia and has a branch in Hacienda Heights in addition to Nick’s office in the City of Industry. While ACG Funding also serves all different com munities with varying cultural backgrounds in these areas, Nick markets heavily within the Chinese com munity. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, he serves a significant number of clients who are newly immigrated to the United States. So, details are absolutely crucial. “I am constantly educating them on how mortgages work in this country,” Nick points out. “I have to be very thorough and patient, and also trustworthy.” He strongly believes being more detailed leads to happy clients, not to mention highly impressed real estate agents who become referral partners. Actually, Nick says he likes the variety of challenges that each new transaction offers to him, because the satisfaction is sweet when he hears, “Good job, Nick” from a REALTOR ® or “I’m so glad I came to you” from a happy client. Nick’s mortgage industry career began in 2009, right out of college. He started as an assistant junior proc essor and then became a processor. Around that time the company moved from banking to being a correspondent lender and then a direct lender. Nick was basically a oneman department initially, handling closings and funding. His team has grown to six closers plus numerous investors, and he now oversees compliance and regular operations issues. Nick started selling in 2013 and slowly built up his client base and referrals network. He says he likes the industry very much because he is able to touch a little bit of everything in home lending and achieves something challenging every day. In fact, he considers himself fortunate to have the advantage of seeing the industry both before and after the market crash, first as a processor and then as a closer where he has learned about secondary marketing. “I have seen how the whole company operates, from all angles,” he notes. Besides building relationships with and educating clients and REALTORS ® , Nick supports environmental activism, and he loves spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys hiking and camping. For Nick Chang, a Mortgage Loan Officer and Consultant with ACG Funding’s branch office in City of Industry, California, the home loan industry is all about client service and building client relationships. “Don’t worry about the money,” he insists. “The mon ey will come.”

This business philosophy draws from Nick’s understanding that, in a fairly competitive industry, focusing on the needs and goals of clients and REALTORS® must be the motivating factor for success. That’s why he focuses on being honest, giving personalized attention and checking every detail of the loan transaction versus concentrating primarily on the business itself.

Nick says, “I want everything to be ready before I direct a client file on through the mortgage process.” To that end, he tries to connect with each client in person, to build a longterm relationship; and he also reaches out to REALTORS®, who say they appreciate his keen attention to detail.

While ACG Funding also serves all different communities with varying cultural backgrounds in these areas, Nick markets heavily within the Chinese community. Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese, he serves a significant number of clients who are newly immigrated to the United States. So, details are absolutely crucial. “I am constantly educating them

on how mortgages work in this country,” Nick points out. “I have to be very thorough and patient, and also trustworthy.” He strongly believes being more detailed leads to happy clients, not to mention highly impressed real estate agents who become referral partners.
