The webquest will prepare students for a mock trial following the discussion of Of Mice and Men.

Students will examine specific websites to prepare for their role (as attorney, witness, juror, or judge).

Task: Does George have the right to kill Lennie?

Process:Assume a role; Investigate required websites; Develop questions to ask

Evaluation:Assess questions developed from the research

By the end of the quest, students will be able to…

• Examine online material to determine which is appropriate to their roles.

• Develop questions for their role based on the online information.

• Navigate websites of interest to them.

Monitors checking for understanding at multiple steps before students perform the mock trial.

Provides students with accurate information about the legal system.

After this WebQuest is implemented, the following could be enacted in order to further this work:

Compare and contrast student found websites to the ones on the WebQuest.

Allow students to examine the assigned websites for their peers and evaluate their roles.

Have students research a topic they came across and share through the use of a blog post, podcast, digital story, or another method.
