H onors Project Nicole Suchin Nicole Suchin is a graphic design major graduating this spring. She acted as director of design and technology on La Roche’s Student Government Association board and vice president for La Roche’s student chapter of American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA). Ms. Suchin has achieved dean’s list status each year and was a peer-tutor in graphic design during her junior year. She has won several awards in the La Roche Design Division’s Positive Space student show. Ms. Suchin has accepted a position at cellhelmet™, a Pittsburgh-based mobile accessories manufacturer and distributor, where she completed a marketing internship while at La Roche. One of the career paths where these barriers are most prominent is in the film industry. Asians have been highly misrepresented in film since its invention. The Bamboo Cinema is an exhibit which details the harsh history of Asian representation within the American film industry and its effects on societal views toward Asian Americans. The exhibit seeks to educate and inspire viewers to become more racially aware consumers and producers of film. 2020
