In 1984, Nidecker set out to build the best snowboards in the world. To-day, years later, the mission has not changed. We still strive to build the best snowboards in the world, period. Since ’84, our products have won numerous awards and accolades for their quality and the cutting edge in-novations they incorporate. Riders, snowsports organizations, and mag-azines around the world have recognized Nidecker as an industry leader for decades.

We have a long history of making our own products in our own factory, and our design team works year-round with our amaz-ing team of riders to develop the best performing snowboard products in the world. Our factory’s location in the heart of Switzerland means that our design team has convenient access to some of the best mountains in the world to test all of our products. At Nidecker, we recognize the importance of environmental sustainability and have taken extraordinary steps across our entire product line to use ma-terials and apply processes that will reduce our impact on the environment. As part of this program, we insist that our materials be ecologically certified and every process we implement must meet or exceed sustainable norms. All of our materials and processes have been carefully selected with one eye toward quality and the other toward our impact on the world around us.

While these efforts have added cost to the pro-cess of building boards, the Nidecker family feels very strongly that these costs not be passed on to the consumer, and our prices have not risen as a result of these initiatives. We will continue to pursue excellence in snowboard manufacturing, developing new technologies and finetuning our products, but we don’t believe we must do this at the expense of the environment.

Nidecker has long been an industry leader in de-veloping eco-friendly materials, products, and processes. Indeed, some of our sustainable pro-cesses have been in place almost since our incep-tion – over 125 years ago! We believe a sustainable future is within reach and will work ceaselessly toward that end. Our long-term goal is to produce the finest snowboards in the world, while reduc-ing our overall carbon footprint to zero.

HERE ARE SOME OF THE STEPS WE HAVE TAKENTO KEEP OUR WORLD GREEN:

- We use the heat from our snowboard presses to heat the factory through a closed-circuit radiant heating system in the floor.

- We recycle our unused cores and other remnants, but most particularly, we reuse our scrap base material. This not only eliminates one of the argest portions of manufacturing waste created by making snowboards, but it allows us to avoid using harmful petrochemical inks and solvents.

- Our waxing process uses a 100% biodegradable formula.- All of our internal processes meet or exceed sustainable norms.- We use die cut bases almost exclusively and design base pat-

terns with inverse - color variations, meaning a much more ef-ficient use of materials.

- Our packaging is minimalist and 100% recyclable.- We favor materials produced locally, close to our factory, to

reduce transportation requirements and minimize our carbon footprint.

- We support Protect Our Winters (POW), Jeremy Jones’ envi-ronmental non-profit, the purpose of which is to unite the win-ter sports community in a common goal of reducing climate change’s effects on our sport and local mountain communities.

Swiss Core is a new technology from Nidecker that will change the way snowboarders not only ride, but how they look at their snowboards. Requir-ing an extraordinarily high level of precision in the manufacturing process, we consider this new technology similar to the “Swiss Movement” found in many of today’s finest Swiss watches. What it simply means is that we took a complex matrix of fibers and engineered them in such a way that the board reacts differently when flexed in different directions, thus improving per-formance no matter what your style of riding.

real twin The twin-tip shape was designed with freestylers in mind. The nose and tail have exactly the same dimensions and the stance is centered, so the board performs equally well, regardless of your orientation. Built to allow riders to jib, spin, stomp, and butter, it gives you not just the pop you need, but the pop you want. Regular or switch, it doesn’t matter, it’s all the same.

twin directionalThis is a hybrid shape, combining the Twin-Tip and the Directional shapes. It will give you the float and control of a Directional shape, but with a twin “feel” that helps you perform better switch. The stiffness is Twin, but the inserts have a small setback like the Directional.

directionalA purely directional board is best for all-mountain freeriding. The nose is longer and wider than the tail, giving you plenty of control in any terrain, and the stance is set back to help you float above the pow. The slash has a natural presence in snowboarding. It is elementary to a skillful approach. It is to navigate with power and style.

From early in my pro career I have always had an interest and fortunately an opportunity to design the boards I rode. From the artwork to the technologies and construction techniques, the very essence of my pro models has been about creating a medium that expresses my personality. This has been very important to me.

Having to work with the Nidecker Mfg. gives me the possibility to create an advanced board technology program, it has allowed more room for me to create – this is the platform SLASH.
