newspaper can help you learn important things about num-

bers that appear in a series. Three key words about numbers

in a series are mean, mode and median.

MEAN is the average of all numbers in a series.

MODE is the number that appears most often in a series.

MEDIAN is the number that appears in the middle of a series.
