TJX Canada/WINNERS Merchants International L.P. (Aug 2014 – Present) Mississauga, Ontario

Food Handling Compliance Project

The project objective was to conduct a thorough study of the food handling cycle from order to shipping to stores, and identify opportunities for improvements. The solution will provide a positive impact to sales and increase productivity through a reduction in manual activities and improved accuracy at the Distribution Centre.

As a lead member of the improvement discovery team – conducted in-depth interviews to capture current food processes, handoffs, pain points, and requirements to resolve high-priority pain points. The approved recommendations were transitioned to the project intake process for estimates and resourcing.

New West Coast Distribution Centre Project (Picasso)

The project objective was to deliver an additional 400,000 to 600,000 sq. ft. Distribution Centre in British Columbia, Canada to satisfy future supply chain needs based on the most recent 10-year sales forecast. As a result of the activation of the new Distribution Centre, TJXC can reduce its carbon footprint by eliminating millions of miles travelled within supply chain network and improve the speed to market for Western Canada stores.

As a member of the Merchandising team – re-validated and revised the initial business requirements and completed the functional requirements for four (4) Buying applications, two (2) data management applications and two (2) centralized web services for Routing and Lead Time calculations.

Once functional requirements were finalized, continued to develop test scenarios, supported Acceptance testing, coordinated post-implementation verification (PIV) and participated in user support during the warranty period.

TriBrand Website Revamp Project

The project objective was to refresh the three brand websites (i.e., Winners, Marshalls, Homesense) utilizing responsive design to create a more engaging user experience, regardless of how consumers access the websites – be it from mobile, tablet or desktop.

On assignment to the Marketing team - conducted interviews and workshops to capture visitor experience, hardware support and ongoing management requirements to be included in the vendor RFP.

Ministry of Children, Youth and Social Services (Feb 2013 – Jul 2013) Toronto, Ontario

SENIOR BUSINESS ANALYST : Responsible for the development of business architecture artifacts and supporting business and IT Blueprint analysis for Children and Youth Services projects in the Cluster.

Child and Youth Mental Health Business Architecture (CYMH BA) Project

The project objectives were to create a business and information architecture for CYMH services which define the business and establish the service management requirements of a transformed system; and deliver an IT Blueprint including solutions analysis and recommendations of the transformed system.

As a member of the core CYMH project team in the Information Management and Architecture Branch – conducted process definition and performance measurement workshops, developed and delivered service performance analysis and Zachman Row 1 and 2 business architecture artifacts for senior IT and Ministry management reviews, and contributed analysis and material to the CYMH IT Blueprint.

OCWA - Ontario Clean Water Agency (Jul 2012 – Jul 2012) Toronto, Ontario

BUSINESS ANALYST: Responsible for the identification and elaboration of business needs with the OCWA business community as a member of the Business Solutions team.

Project Request Analysis

The assignment objective was to conduct a preliminary elucidation of project requests in order to support a high-level estimate of work effort and business prioritization.

Developed a template for documenting a formal Statement of Business Needs to capture current and future states, stakeholders and high-level requirements to facilitate estimating and prioritization activities; and subsequently delivered Statements of Business Need for over ten (10) project requests.

Canadian Tire Corporation (Jul 2010 – Jan 2012)

Toronto, Ontario

BUSINESS ANALYST: Responsible for the development of business requirements, organizational impact assessments, and high-level designs as a member of the Retail Systems Operations team.

Environmental Fee Distribution Project

The project objective was to improve the efficiency and speed of implementing environmental fees at the retail store Point-of-Sale (POS); streamline and simplify the synchronization of environmental fee data to Store systems and technology, and support audits and tracking of the environmental fee management process.

Developed the requirements, high-level process and technology design and store pilot documentation to reliably distribute product environmental fees to POS systems in retail stores. The objective is to ensure proper fees are charged to the customer.

Nationalized Price Transparency Project

The project objective was to implement the long-term solution for Advertised Pricing and Component Pricing disclosure across Canada. The solution was to be extensible to address current and new price disclosure legislation in Quebec and other provinces, and also future Canadian Tire Corporation strategic price disclosure decisions.

Developed the requirements, signage mockups and high-level systems design to display, as legislated or planned, comprehensive store signage disclosing environmental fees to consumers.

RF Scan Gun Visual Optimization Project

The project objective was to increase efficiency and decrease the time to perform common store floor tasks through the RF Scan Gun.

Facilitated documented and prototyped the design of the graphical interface and workflow enhancements to the in-store scanning hardware.

Ministry of Children, Youth and Social Services (Jan 2010 – Apr 2010)

BUSINESS ANALYST: Responsible for the analysis and development of recommendations for an approach to integrate an information classification tool into Cluster methods and processes.

Enterprise Information Management – Business Classification Scheme Project

The project objective was to develop a business architecture framework and information classification methodology, including a Business Classification Scheme (BCS), to support ongoing information operations of the MCYSS; and deliver a high-level implementation plan and cost estimates to deliver the architecture.

Integrated the DIRKS Methodology with the Holm/LaFlèche method – designed, developed and reviewed the Cluster metadata model underlying the development of a Business Classification Scheme (BCS) for Information Management projects

Evaluated Synercon’s a.k.a. toolset (the OPS standard) for alignment with the Cluster metadata model for BCS development; delivered documents outlining approaches and configuration of the toolset
