Super NTS has the following proven capabilities:Target acquisition during day, night and under limited visibilityconditions, using the following sensors:• State-of-the-art second generation TDI MCT (8-12 µm) FLIR or

third generation FPA InSb (3 - 5 µm) FLIR.• Color/monochrome TV camera for both daylight and low light

conditions. (This replaces the original M-65/NTS Optical Relay Tube).

• Laser Designator and Rangefinder for ranging and for designatingto laser-guided weapons.

• Laser Spot Tracker for cooperation with other forces with laserdesignating capability (such as aircraft, helicopters and ground troops).

• Advanced video tracker for auto-tracking during both day andnight, significantly lowering the crew’s workload.

Guidance for all types of TOW, Hellfire and other missiles.

Fully automatic in-flight boresight for maximum accuracythroughout the mission.

Navigation and tactical data display, including present position,target coordinates and direction.

Display of FLIR and TV imagery on Multi-Function Display in bothGunner’s and Pilot’s cockpits

High performance Built-In-Test (BIT).

High MTBF and low MTTR provide very high system availability.Super NTS was especially designed for high reliability andmaintainability.

Built-in growth potential for future integration with other on-board systems, via two 1553b data buses.

Background and StatusSince 1982, TAMAM has been involved in upgrading programsto provide attack helicopters with laser ranging, designation andnight attack capabilities.NTS Night Targeting System developed by TAMAM under sole-sourcecontract from the US Marine Corps and the Israel Air Force, hasaccumulated considerable operational use, with both the USMC andthe IAF Cobra Helicopters.

TAMAM’s systems of the NTS family are in full operational usewith US, Israeli, and other customers. They have the full flexibilityof integration with different armaments and weapons systems, suchas TOW , TOW II, Hellfire and others.

More than 450 systems of the NTS family have already beenordered for different customers around the world, with more inyears to come. This ensures a continuous process of improvementand guarantees dependable logistic support over the entire life cycleof the system.

TAMAM’s Super NTS is a new version of the proven NTS, withenhanced performance and is suitable for a wide range of differentattack helicopters (including the AH-1W, 1F, 1S, and 1P Cobras, AgustaA-129 and others). In the Super NTS, the original optical tube isremoved, freeing up valuable space in the helicopter cockpit, allowingthe use of flat-panel displays, and allowing the system to be compatiblewith many different types of attack helicopters.
