Fay worked as a secretary for a Major in theArmy. Bill was in the Navy, and eventuallybecame an accountant for the City of Detroit.Fay was fortunate to be able to stay at homewith the girls. Later on after the girls grew up,she worked at JCPenney’s. The family enjoyedtaking camping trips throughout Michigan. Fayand Bill took numerous trips throughout theUnited States and Canada. In 1989 Fay & Billmoved to Traverse City and made their homehere. Fay used to be famous for her baking. Sheenjoys visiting and talking on the phone withher daughters.

Our spotlight this month is shining on FayS. She was born and raised in Detroit. Fay hada brother and sister and was the youngest. Faysaid she had very fond memories of her olderbrother when she was younger, she used to hangout with him and his girlfriend at coffee shops.She said they use to call her “Babe”. Fay mar-ried a young man named Bill from herneighborhood. They married in1945 and madeit almost 65 years before he passed away in2009. They were truly soulmates in every senseof the word. They had four daughters, Carol,Susan, Eileen and Laura, seven grandchildrenand four great-grandchildren. During WWll,

out living in Boyne City and moved to Buckley,3 years ago, where we now reside. We have beenmarried for 5 years in February and we have 5children together, including a set of twins. Wehave overcome many obstacles but are veryblessed. Apart from working at Bay Ridge andbeing a full time wife and mom, I also attendBaker College Online. I have 6 courses left tocomplete and an internship before I receive myAssociates in Business Administration. At thattime I will continue my education to get myBachelors in Healthcare Administration. In myspare time, which is very far and few between, Ienjoy working on my scrapbook, reading, andwatching movies and playing games with myfamily. During the summer I also enjoy swim-ming and fishing, and during the winter I enjoysnowmobiling and hunting.

I was born on July 24, 1990 and grew up inIndian River, a small village about 30 minutessouth of the Mackinac Bridge. My town is bestknown for the Cross in the Woods aka theCatholic Shrine. After graduating from highschool in the top 10 of my class in 2008, Ienrolled to North Central Michigan College inPetoskey for General Studies. While there I metmy first husband and was married and had myfirst son when I was 20 years old. Within a yearI had my second son. My husband at the timewas an MP in the National Guard and spentmost of our marriage deployed in Afghanistan.Circumstances ultimately led to our divorcewhen he returned.

A year after, I met my current husband, aself-employed contractor. He brought along 4children from his previous marriage. We started
