NIRMAN NETWORK
Rebuilding a safe Nepal
“Nepal has suffered a disastrous earthquake in April 2015 with expected deaths over 10,000, many thousands injured and with numerous towns and villages turned into rubbles. This beauEful but resource crunched Himalayan country conEnues to remain in a high seismic zone and it is expected that there will be more massive earthquakes in the coming decades. As it is not earthquake but the buildings that kill, let us make sure that the future earthquakes do not result in so much pain!!! For this reason, we plan to build a network of people to rebuild a safer Nepal. NIRMAN Network will be a global network of people with varied interest but a common goal. NIRMAN stands for Nepal InnovaEve Redevelopment – Making Assured Neighborhoods. In local language, it also means build. At present, we are puOng together a core NIRMAN team for our first rebuilding project. We invite you to be part of the NIRMAN Network and help rebuild Nepal”
What we propose to do?
“Nirman will begin by adopEng a village and rebuilding using modern earthquake safe technologies via funds raised through the network. With learning, we intend to scale and accelerate this process”
