Northern Kentucky Chamber’s strategic work to ensure we have a qualified local workforce is key to helping our business community compete and succeed.— Mike Vogt, VP HR and General Affairs, Mazak Corporation

The Chamber’s Public Affair’s Department has brought tremendous value to the business community and the region at large. Specifically, the Chamber championed the effort to pass the Kentucky Individual Angel Investment Tax Credit that will spur transformational economic impact of entrepreneurism in Northern Kentucky and attract investment to create jobs, spark innovation and build further clients for local businesses. The future is significantly brighter thanks to the efforts of the Chamber’s advocacy efforts.— Brad Zapp, Principal at Legacy Financial Advisors

As a small business, were always looking for new markets to promote our waste-to-energy technology. Participating in the Northern Kentucky International Trade Association’s (NKITA) program with the Council General of Japan helped us network with just the right influencers for our project back in Japan. Because of the connections, we recently were awarded a multi-million dollar contract from the Japanese government to assist in its efforts to revitalize tsunami stricken areas of Japan.— Raymond Luk, Green Energy Enterprises, LLC

My Chamber membership has been invaluable in helping me grow my law firm and CPA firm over the past 15 years. Whether its promoting my business by advertising in the Business Journal, or receiving advice from a trusted group of business owners at my monthly round table, or being recognized as a subject matter expert through Consultant’s Corner, the opportunities afforded my business through the Chamber has allowed it to thrive. — Bill Hesch, Esq., CPA, PFS, William E. Hesch Law and CPAs

LNK offers the opportunity to gain a unique perspective of our region. Though born and raised in Northern Kentucky, LNK showed me aspects of our community that I didn’t truly understand before going through the program, as well as how they interrelate with each other. This sheds light not only on the issues facing Northern Kentucky, but also on the collaborative approaches we as a region have taken to address those issues, and it inspires me to contribute to our success.”— Jessica B. Rawe, Esq., VP & Trust Officer, The Bank of Kentucky

What can the Chamber do for you?

I attended the Employer Solution Chamber gathering to discuss “Health, Wellness and Safety”. There were two great presentations focused on how start and grow a wellness program in your organization. There was great discussion and observation that occurred in the room. One of the most helpful one was that how the wellness message is presented has a HUGE impact on the acceptance of Wellness. Present it to the employees as a positive gain for them, that these new things are there to help them physically, mentally and financially. The message of how it benefits the company does not even need to be shared. If employees see that the employer genuinely cares for them, a significant number of employees will gladly volunteer to participate in the programs. Start small, don’t try to fix it all at the start. Develop trust and your culture will start to change for the better. The benefits of an integrated Wellness and Safety Culture are great for all. Take the first step.— Mike Meister, Terracon
