Devotion to the mother is the root of all welfare.

This was the spirit echoing in every inch of Nachiketa

Tapovan on 26th January, the day on which Indian

Constitution came into force 59 years ago. We

proudly bore the badges of Indian Flag in and on our

proud bosoms. The celebrations started with the Chief

Guest Sri K Vinai Garu MD Embedded Infotech Pvt.

Limited, hoisting our Tiranga completed by a heartfelt

National Anthem from all of us. The students ofTapovan opened the cultural affair with Veda

Pathanam, followed by cheerful dances, thought

provoking discussions, orations and yoga vinyasa.

Vinai garu and Swami Nachiketananda also awarded

certificates to the 2nd batch graduates of computer

literacy classes. It would be more apt to say that Sri

Vinai Garu had a hearty chat with us rather than a

speech. The fun and frolic came to an end after words

    of enlightenment from Swamiji.

When this newsletter waslaunched on January11th 2009, asa part of Vidya Mandirs Annual DayCelebrations, I was in for a surprise.Swamiji announced my name, re-questing me to come and receivethe first copy from Smt PadmajaRambabu. I stepped forward after

some hesitation. Do I deserve thishonour? This was the foremostthought in my mind. Anyway, sinceit is the Divine Will, I am left with nooption.

After all the guests had left,Swamiji called me to the office andsprang yet another surprise. Heentrusted me with the assignmentof writing Editorials and you can wellimagine my plight. Swamiji gave meno scope to voice my uncertainties.

I submitted myself to the Divine plan.

Many cautioned me that it wouldbe very difficult to keep up with thistask. I knew that, but still went aheadin the belief that if we take one step,Swamiji would take care of the restand that sure has happened.

We have successfully broughtout our 3rd Issue of Newsletter with-out any teething troubles, thanks toSwamijis Grace and of course yourgood wishes. We are featuring ourRepublic Day Celebrations and anupdate on the Ashram Constructionactivities in the current issue.

    Swami Nachiketananda

When you say, I want to reach God, who wants to reach

God? And where is that God? If the time ceases then distance

ceases and there is no question of reaching God. You dont

need to say I have to reach my body or my mind. You exist

everywhere in this body but not in just one part. That existence

has been forgotten by every individual. When you exist

everywhere you dont need to reach somewhere. If you are

able to drop that thought from your mind then this word

reach doesnt exist. If that word doesnt exist then you

know very well where you exist. You start searching for God

elsewhere trying to find him in temples. When you look at

yourself in the mirror, do you need to remind yourself of

who you are? It is not at all necessary. The moment youthink of God you have already created separation. In

separation time exists, if time exists distance exists.

10 11There is no other teacher but your own soul!

    Services of various specialists

were provided at the free Special

    Health Camps organized by

    Nachiketa Tapovan on Sunday,

    February 1st2009. More than 200

    underprivileged citizens got

    themselves screened for various

    ailments.

    Long lines of potential patients

began forming lines as early as

8:30 AM at the Registry desk.

    Patients ranged from newborn

to 75 years old. An enthusiastic

team of doctors led by Dr.Ramesh,

    ENT rendered services and were

kept busy from9AM to 3 PM.

    Volunteers escorted patients to

    their respective rooms.

    We sincerely thank Dr.Krishna

    Kishore, Opthalmologist and his

    team from Sarojini Devi Eye

    Hospital, Dr. Eshwara Chary

    Paediatrician,Dr Ramesh ENT and

    Dr.Sudhakar Reddy, General

    Physician for spending their

    valuable time in supporting our

    cause.

    Cost of medicines, spectacles

    and cataract surgeries will be

    funded entirely by charitable

    contributions.

    Special Health Camps

Unalloyed love of God is the essential thing. All else is

    unreal.

As a group of 44 pilgrims we had

the rare privilege of going to Char

Dham on a quest to find themeaning of life under the auspices

    of Swami Nachiketananda.

    Swamiji motivated us to connect

with our higher self and this tour

turned out to be the most beautiful,

    insightful and thought provoking

    inner journey.

    Rishikesh, the home for

    hundreds of Ashrams was the

starting point of our journey. Thevariety of floral and herbal trees,

    the breath taking view of

    Himalayas and the river Yamuna

flowing down at Yamunotri held us

    spellbound.

Char Dham Yatra A visit to the temple of MotherGanga, the spectacular Ganga

Aarti and a meditation session on

the banks of River Bhagirathi at

    Gangotri elevated our spirits.

While Kedarnath is famous as one

of the Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva,

the trek up the hills is verystrenuous. The high altitudes,

    scarcity of oxygen and freezing

nights made it tougher. Once we

reached there we found it an

amazing place, nestled in the lap

    of nature. The gurgling Mandakini

river, the snow clad peaks and the

    presence of spiritual seekers (yogis)

    make the place ethereal.

The sanctity of Badrinath left usspeechless. Standing face to face

    with mythology was a thrilling

    experience. This 18 day pilgrimage

to Char Dham and other spiritual

places made a powerful impact on

all of us in so many levels. We

recommend this tour to all spiritual

    aspirants.
