Thanks to Mr. Brochu and his family who own the land we can ride ATVs and cars in the summer to the top of this mountain for a 360 degree view of the area mountains
and lakes. Take either trail from Stratton to Rangeley and look for signs to Quill Hill. On a clear day you can see Mt. Katadin - the highest mountain in Maine which is 150 miles away. You also just might encoun-ter a wedding party or two as this has become a very popular place to tie the knot.

Rules of the Trail
1. STAY ON MARKED TRAILS OR PLEASE STAY HOME. New laws have made it illegal to ride anywhere without landowner permission. We are fi ghting hard to keep our landowners happy by respecting their land. We can’t keep our trails if you do not respect landowner rules. It’s their land, they can close the trail anytime they wish.2. BUY A LOCAL CLUB MAP. The Moose Trail is intended to show major trails. Current information, side trails and local “must sees” will be found on club maps. These are also fundraisers for the clubs. The money goes to support the trails.
3. JOIN A CLUB. When you do, join the Maine ATV Association as well. Most clubs include ATV membership in club dues. It’s a great fund-raiser and gives extra insurance while riding in our state. RIDE OUR TRAILS. JOIN OUR CLUBS.4. DO NOT LITTER. Pack in, pack out.5. LEARN AND USE THE HAND SIGNALS SHOWN ON THIS MAP.6. ALWAYS RIDE ON THE RIGHT. Do this for safety’s sake — you don’t drive your car in the middle of the road. Middle riding, besides being unsafe, staves up the trail quicker, producing those bumps you hate.
7. DON’T DRINK AND RIDE.8. DO NOT RIDE ATVS OR SIDE BY SIDES MORE THAN 60” WIDE ON THESE TRAILS.Check ATV club advertisement below for information and maps. ATV trails are open from Memorial Day thru Oct. 31.9. PLEASE PATRONIZE MAP ADVERTISERS. They have made this trail possible for your enjoyment. We recommend them for quality, service and value.10.
